im looking for a descent mmorpg game to play. I dont mind subscriptions fees or whatever. I like games that have a good sense of adventure in them and a large community, say over 60,000. It would have to have fairly descent graphics. Please dont say WoW as i have played it and it seems to have no real objective in the game at all. I dont mind having to fork out for the game as well, so i dont mean a free one. Thanks in advance. Any recommendations are great.

Guild Wars - Rorick Aurlith E/Mo pumped up with the best armor and weapon, has all his skills, and runes. PvP King!
Dark Age of Camelot - Leaton 50 Vampiir - Lamorak - Guild: Magic and Mayhem!
runescape, 5million people play it, and 500,000 members.

I don't need LIFE as a 1337 GAMER, I have never-ending life!
MMORPGs:
RuneScape, World of WarCraft
I just don't understand this hatred towards WoW.
I loved it.
I've never been a big fan of Missions..or quests. I usually just like to stroll around, explore and kill stuff. WoW was great for that. But what wow also had was a great quest system. It was easy to keep track of your quests. WoW was actually the first MMORPG where I did a substantial number of quests. And the Auction house... I LOVED THAT THING. I loved bidding on items.. and selling my items via the auction house. I loved shopping for stuff in the auction house.
The worlds was big and beautiful. The vibrant colors have been ridiculed as "cartoony" but I found them very pleasing. And PvP... people bitch about it. Well in WoW you could join a PVP server and risk being "ganked" at any time or you could join a PvE server and choose consentual PVP (duels) or Enter battlegrounds.
You could gain interesting and valuable items by:
Questing (raids with guildmates)
PvP (through the Honor system)
Solo'ing (buying crap off the auctionhouse)
Couple things about WoW that bothered me:
1. Crafting didn't have high enough value in my opinion. A majority of the really good stuff was all drops, making it really insignificant to level a crafting skill.
2. Wasn't sure I like the way the honor system worked. You would have to maintain a certain rank based on a curve, so even if you PvP'd in battle grounds every day for 1 hour every day for a year you could still not end up with anything really good (you couldn't slowly gain honor points over time and expect to gain rank, you had to fight long hard and often to achieve and maintain a good rank).
Lineage 2 or Eve.
I've also heard DAOC is pretty good but have never played it.
