They keep doing stuff like this, releasing new cosmetics, and pushing toward Switch launch as if there aren't still significant progress blocking bugs and a sheer lack of extremely basic features such as both not being able to create more than a single character, and not being able to delete that single character to start over in any way outside of creating an entirely different account. It feels pretty clear the priority is on what they can milk the most cash from rather than making sure their game is actually solid first.

Every patch seems to also include some important basic features: This patch we got EU servers, two weeks before that we got nearby chat and flare arrows, two weeks before that we got destroying crops, two weeks before that we got crafting multiple items at once...
Every patch also includes a list of bug fixes.
I think ideally Palia's devs should take a little extra time and release the Switch version early next year. But the game isn't in a bad shape, and they are doing a decent job at improving it.
Personally I've got my doubts whether Palia can hold people's attention for longer time, and whether their monetization scheme works. But they're doing adequately with fixing bugs, adding missing features, and balancing it.
I immediately uninstalled right after installing last night actually. Downloaded off Epic Games, so I selected what path to install the game to 2 times (Starting the Epic Games installer and again in the Palia install window), but the game apparently auto-installs to your AppData/Local folder in your C drive no matter where you choose lmao. Horrible design. If that's how the installer is, I can't imagine how the game itself is. Hard pass.

If you register and install through Palia's own website you'll be able to select any install location you want.
I think you're supposed to be able to select it also while installing through Epic. If it asks you to select twice and still fails to install in correct location it's more likely to be either a bug or user error rather than dev's design choice to ask install location multiple times and then ignore the answer.
