The campaign is too long for replayability. Online ARPG's with seasons/ladders are meant for replayability so when you mix the long campaign with seasons/ladders and possibly hardcore mode, you end up with a very monotonous experience.

In my opinion, seasonal/ladder ARPG's should focus on getting players into the action right away and not require the same questline 1000+ times. An example of what I mean would be Path of Exile allowing players to start mapping at level 1. Even Diablo 3/4 removed the campaign. Campaigns are SINGLEPLAYER minded. Season/ladder ARPGs need to focus on the action and loot, NOT a storyline/quest chain.

I agree that you shouldn't have to redo ARPG stories each season, which is the second biggest reason why I stopped playing POE.  The first being that it's like a second job.

You don't need to finish the campaign to jump into end game, just unlock the zone where it lies.  That doesn't alleviate having to do some of it at the start of each season, but dungeons provide ways to skip to the next chapter.

Although they tie a lot of progression to various tasks in the story as well so even if you jumped into endgame early, you'd need to go back to the story for full benefits.

As far as the trailer goes, it was a bit odd.  I'm not sure if people are supposed to get excited from seeing it.  I don't think trailers are their strong suit honestly as their Gamescom trailer was pretty lackluster as well.
