The Realm Online, one of the oldest MMOs out there, saw itself in the middle of some trouble earlier this year after it initially looked like it was being canned. However, after a new team grabbed the rights to the MMO, The Realm Online had new life. The launch of a revamped, reimagined Realm Online has happened today, bringing changes to the game.

    What I best remember about The Realm Online is my younger brother (perhaps age 9 at the time?) getting scammed in-game by a guy who befriended him for a short while, told him he'd level up his characters while my brother was at school, and through this genuine friendship, kyped my brother's username/password. This, naturally, left my brother crying to a mother who didn't understand what in the seven hells had happened. Fun times!

    What do I next most remember next?.... Ultima Online released just under a year later, and upon its release eradicated any reason to play or remember The Realm Online. Once UO came to town, who cared about anything elseother? Who cared about life? For the next many years, UO was life. Fun times!
