I use to truly love to play FFXIV, lots of content for a new or returning player without having to be current storyline. The only thing that keeps me from playing more is the housing system, I really wish they would figure that out since its such a fun part of the game.

I love every aspect of FFXIV, minus the housing system. It kills any enjoyment for me when at the end of a long raid or material farm I can't go to a home and rest... apartments are not enough =\

i mean, you should play any mmo without fomo, since there will be time that you will miss some stuff if you play different games

I'm not the type of player that HAS to have everything. Do I get some stuff, like the optional outfits on the mogstation? A mount or two? Yes, I do, but ONLY if I really want it, and not out of need to have.

Same for the emotes, dances, etc. While many of my friends show off these things and act like it makes them something special, it's really not that important. So you have a little anime style dance. Cute, but what does it get you really? Not much. People rarely even bat an eye at those much anymore. Because everyone who has FOMO already has it. I can go without, as it doesn't affect my gameplay. Unless you're one of those "Stand around the Limsa Lominsa Aetherite crystal and dance near to being nekkid Miqo'te" types, it matters very little at all.

So yeah, I play FFXIV for the game. I've played for quite a few years now, and even remember playing the Trainwreck 1.0... and still have no FOMO in my mind.
