So.......exactly what will they be doing to bring life back to Elite Dangerous? Will they remove at least 50% of the grind? Introduce Ship Interiors? Socialization features with other players? Fix any number of bugs or issues the community has already voiced over the years? Speed up development times from years to weeks or months (unlikely given they fired a lot of people)?

They will probably add more engineering grind for you and oh some more Thargoids. Certainly more ship paint jobs and skins :) What they won't do is try and get all those that left to return by making the game more casual.

The problem with making any game more casual is that the new "casual" grind becomes the new "tough" grind. Grind is relative to what you experience in other games and for each game most importantly what you have experienced in the game in question. Do you know of any game, no matter what changes towards casual have been made where there are no players still calling for it to be more casual? It is this never ending call for easier and easier that has developers scrambling for ideas, as when you make something easier you just reach end game sooner. This "casual fixes everything" idea is a mirage created by the fact that the grind takes your time, it always will that's why it is there.

I should say I cannot speak about the specific grind in ED as it is a bought but not played yet game. As there are some questions about support for the game I had already decided to bring it forward but still a few months away before I play.

I'd be hard-pressed to find as much community involvement as I've seen in my short time with ED. From external sites and resources to several subreddits supporting various aspects of the game.

Although there seems to be enough player support for this game to keep it afloat, I could see how constant complaints from certain factions within the playerbase would cause this title to be dropped by fdev to put resources into other titles, because you know the rolly-coaster and zoo kids are probably alot easier to deal with...

They defo will not add ship interiors they said people would get bored of that in 5 mins so not worth the dev cost....

Personally I think they need to add them and eva move a little closer to what Star Citizen offers build on their FPS odysseys DLC and also finally do a console port as that is a huge market they left.
