All I know is I've been playing Last Epoch and that game is chock full of D4 refugees at the moment. Every 20 minutes it's a bash D4 session in global chat. I'm sure it's a lot of hyperbole but the current season doesn't sound good.

The number of players on Steam for both games is about the same, never mind those that play DIV through Battle.net. I wouldn't put too much stock in global chat bashing.

It is a nice showing for Last Epoch nonetheless.

Oh I never said Last Epoch was going to overtake D4. They just celebrated their millionth copy sold. D4 is estimated at selling 9 to 10 million, so a literal order of magnitude more sales. The velocity just isn't there and likely never will be. I was just pointing out the D4 players that do show up indicate the current season is pretty bad. My guess is more would go to PoE, but I am not a fan of that game.

The season isn't horrible, but it isn't great either. The battlepass is lame and the rewards are boring. This team just doesn't understand how to do enticing FOMO. They should really sit down to lunch with the FO76 team. Those people know how to squeeze battlepass money out of their customers with neat rewards.

The Lunar New Years event does suck. It's hard to progress and engage with. The season progression, battle pass, and current event don't work with each other, in fact they all sort of work against each other with regards to progression and completion.

Starting a new seasonal character and playing through the campaign to level as quickly as possible doesn't work well with the above 3 either. It's just very underwhelming.

On the plus side, the Barbarian is in a really good spot and a very fun class to play. This makes all the above even more frustrating because it good be a very enjoyable and memorable experience, but the team running the show just doesn't seem to "get it". Or at the very least, I am not on the same page and just don't like how the season/bp/event are put together.

What? The Lunar event is find shrines that look like dragons. You find them in the open world where you can also do the events with robots that get you mats for the Seasonal robot-pet. You can also do vaults for all the same stuff and to get a chance to fight son of malphas. They definitely interact.
Leveling seems to go pretty quick with all the +exp they have given or the past patches, but was def faster in Season 2. Vault is a great spot for leveling though, pretty filled with elites/champions/etc...
I think they will mess up the Uniques. Either they force you to have 5 of the same unique or they will have people trade in 5 IL 925 Uniques from Duriel and get a IL 763 with bad ranges. IL of item should either take the highest of the uniques traded in or an average, not random.

I like it better than the first season but not as well as the second, so I'm finding it middle of the road for what they've done to date.

I skip the campaign on seasonal characters. I'd rather spend the time directly on the features the season has from the get go.

PoE perhaps, yes. I'm not personally fond of it but know it to be popular. Fortunately we are not starved for choice. I could do solo Grim Dawn if nothing else suited.

The up comming changes sound good. The other day, it took me all day to find the 1 aspect "Chill", so I could change from being a ball lightning sorc, to blizzard sorc. Ball lightning was severely beatin' retarded by the nerf hammer. Yes, it worked, sort of; enough to allow me to run some early night mare dungeons. It felt like wading knee deep in water. Blizzard is a million times better, and I will be sticking with it this season.

Season 3 is quite bland and boring, they even managed to make automatons only have 2 viable setups late game, but the issue is still the same. The base structure of the game is flawed.

When you mix a weak game base with non-clue, hard to believe they ever played an ARPG game, developers you get a snooze fest.

They are treating the game as any mobile gatcha game. Just adding more stuff to farm for the shake of farming. They cant balance the sh out of the paragon board, skill tree is useless, all they do is throw nerfs to whatever players find that devs have messed up during the next batch of power layer they added.

Blizzard doesnt have a single developer that knows what gaming is. Older people dont have the drive and the new generations were all raised in the age of mobile gaming so they cant even fathom what make D1-D2,Dungeon Siege, Titan Quest, the games that people play even today 20 years after release.

Blizzard needs to create/outsouce to a studio in some region that still has some old blood gaming running (probably eastern europe) in their veins.

"The Blizzard PR strat" is getting so damn tiring, man. They have multiple games that had this same dogshit-to-okay-to-pretty-good progression in development...

“we want to give players increased autonomy in obtaining their desired Uber Unique by addressing feedback that expressed how acquiring duplicate or undesired Uber Unique Items lessens that feeling of triumph”

Oh, you're just realizing this now? That this would be a good thing to have in the game? That's weird, because D3 became good the minute players got access to ways to target farm things. Hey, would you look at that! D2 as well! Last Epoch and POE... The best thing about them is how you can tinker your gear throughout progression.

So, essentially, either they refuse to admit they're purposefully cucking the game to sell all of the good stuff in the expansion (as usual), or they just somehow don't do market research at Blizzard, including comparisons to their past games.

What series comes out with a third+ game, without the previous game's most loved features? Shit, I'll do you one better: Which company tries to gaslight you into thinking that these cool features are actually bad and sell you a gutted game that's "trying to embody the raw basic nature of the original games, man..."

    Blizzard are clowns.

I thought about skipping the campaign. I wrongly thought it would be a faster leveling path while also ticking off seasonal objectives. Leveling is going quickly enough, just it doesn't feel cohesive. Past Diablo 3 seasons felt much more cohesive and intuitive regardless whether the character played the campaign or not. But this isn't D3, and we can't rebirth our characters here, so I obviously need to readjust my expectation. I'm just feeling very unsatisfied with the experience so far.

They didn't just realize it now but have instead been improving targeted farming from the second season onward. Perhaps the failure in this matter is your apparent lacking awareness of that.

Developers come out with a third game in a series initially lacking some features when other features currently have more priority. It's not like the making of DIV is on the basis of all or nothing from the get go. Once it's out to door it can be further refined, which is exactly what they are doing.

LMAO a must watch video for all D4 lovers!

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

It would have been more amusing if the maker of the video was adept at sarcasm. At least it was informative as to Last Epoch features. It seems alright.

Your sarcasm detector must be pretty broke cause it was pure sarcasm through and through and funny to boot.

It was indeed laced with abundant sarcasm. What was funny to you was to me mediocre. My detector isn't broken, just differently tuned than your own.

I'm not a huge fan of people bashing D4 when pushing LE.  It's just going to turn a  segment of players against even giving the game a chance.

Not really a fun of such myself most of the time but this one made me laugh hard since it touched on lots of the points I dislike about D4 but without it being a nasty rant and done so with class while while trying to promote another arpg.

I watched about half.  It was definitely well done but I'm sure it will trigger a lot of people.  Some people love D4 or it may just be their first ARPG.

True enough I guess but I try not to let the easily triggered people deter me from posting something I though was funny and wanted to share with others!

I very much doubt it will deter anyone not already predisposed against LE. People are used to petty jabs such as those peppering this video and can easily dismiss it as the background dross that it is and instead focus on the virtues of LE highlighted.

Why should anyone care when Diablo 1(DevX, Bel), Diablo 2(PD2, Median, PoD etc : incl. Resurrected) and Diablo 3(far superior imo) exist?
