This is the end of quality and the beginning of "I'm union you cant fire me", union strikes, and slew of new pandora boxes. I will never buy one of their games again.

lol you actually have to spend money with a company first, for them to care whether you boycott them or not. Even then, it isn't guaranteed. Boycotts generally don't work, especially in the long term.

I'm not boycotting it, i'm not going to buy it.  Most people don't care but im firmly against unions , specially when they will increase costs to the consumer.

I'm sure they'll miss all the money you were never going to spend with them in the first place.

Well, then I doubt that you were ever in a situation where being in the union saved your a**

my "bad" experiences with Unions were mostly stupid things such as I couldn't move an extension cord because the Union required a certain worker to move it. I couldn't fix a door because the Union required someone else to do it.

But the "good" experiences were better. I actually got overtime pay when my employers weren't giving me overtime pay. My girlfriend actually got some extra salary during the time she was laid off and had to find a job. Union did that.

It's not as if every employer has good intentions when it comes to their workers. Especially when some workers really need good benefits or an honest bit of pay.

I see people making 40 dollars an hour on the picket line and making 30 dollars an hour. When a union goes on strike, those workers still get paid for being on strike. We will see blizzard unions on strike atleast 1 quarter a year.
It's obvious ome of you arent familar with American unions and how they are money laundering mills for left leaning  politicals
Look up factory towns circa 1900.
No doubt unions have earned some contempt, but business isn't innocent here.
They're both thugs and deserve each other.

Well Microsoft headquarters is in Washington which is a very blue state, and I can tell you that a lot of the top brass are very left leaning. Just look at Bill Gates. While he's retired from day to day operations his fingerprints are still very much visible on the culture at Microsoft. Point being left leaning leadership and union bosses speak the same language. That language usually involves money under the table to make problems go away, but they speak the same language. My expectation is very well to do union bosses, and minimal picketing because Microsoft has the pocketbook to not care especially for 600 employees.

Gotta say they spend union dues weird. And just as plain as day, the CWA has another group called the CWV for which they gave $3,139,939 too.

The rabbit hole is like a lot of "unions", money laundering. These people don't give 2 craps about workers.

I predict by 2028, blizzard and activision will shutdown with all assets being merged into a ms game unit. Franchise favorites will die and in their place games that are blatant push into wokenes

Job protection is an element of unions as is the ability to go on strike. As such, he clearly has some understanding of how unions work. He may be anti-union but that isn't a rare sentiment and one he is entitled to. Not buying their games henceforth seems a bit extreme but to each their own.

There are problems with unions.  Unions form because there are problems with companies.

Don't want unions?  Don't treat your employees like crap.

But that might interfere with the game company management's quarterly bonus.

Guys political posts are against the rules of the forum, people get (wrongly in my eyes) banned for this. I know its a political item but keep of the politics!!
  • ScotScot Member LegendaryPosts: 24,495
Well he got banned, I suppose it was "by far the most political posts in a thread where it was really political." Always hate when this happens, but he did push it and we all know the rules, wishing Dural well.
