so you can adjust the stats on the same boring items already in the game. I don't think this is the silver bullet they were hoping for to breathe life into this game.

They are just grasping at straws at this moment, in desperation to keep their game relevant.
I have already moved on and won't buy their ridiculous overpriced expac either.
It's too late. Everyone has moved on. You don't get any more chances.
The only people still playing D4 are diehard fans who will never leave you even if you turn all of their items into marshmallow peeps dipped in month-old french-fry grease.
Any design changes or updates you make from this point forward are just ... pointless.
Why is everyone so convinced these steps won't save the game? Blizzard copies successful systems from other games and polishes them to improve their games. It's just what they do. This is nothing new. Last Epoch is full of a great ideas and I would fucking hope Blizzard would learn from their competition. D4 is a superior product to LE in many technical ways (combat fluidity, sound, graphics, etc)
Are you guys forgetting that Diablo 2 didn't hit its stride until the xpac? Same with D3. Why wouldn't D4 follow the same path?
The changes are good and it shows the devs are actually listening and trying to fix their game.
D4 is very much something that can be saved and it looks like they just might succeed if they can add sufficient end game content to keep the keyboard cowboys distracted for longer than 2 weeks.

DIV doesn't need saving. The game had huge sales and there is no reason to expect the expansion(s) for it won't sell well.
Where they may have issues is maintaining interest in seasons as they've been rather hit and miss. Their cash shop is also ridiculous but that isn't unique by any means. Fortunately I can stave off my desire for $30 worth of 'taste the rainbow' portals, making it a non-issue for me.
