    This is pure lunacy!

Ok jokes aside I'm actually really excited because I loved the first one as a single player game. It totally fell apart as a multiplayer game. Soooo many bugs. You could not get anything significant done in multiplayer. However, if they're going to take another crack at this with a modern engine and a greenfield rewrite? Yes, yes sign me up.

Over the years since the original release, I have revisited Hellgate several times. Still is one of my favorite single-player games despite itself.

Always loved the idea of Hellgate - but it was kinda boring. They didn’t manage to find that magical gameplay loop that made people stick with it

"The team is leveraging Unreal Engine 5, cloud-based game servers, and a number of other methods to spend its budget as efficiently as possible."

It shows you what gaming has become when they feel the need to tell you how efficiently they are spending their budget.

Don't be snowed by nostalgia, Hellgate London was so many years ago, and if people already forgot, was quite a troubled game.

Also know where the Producers mindset and experience has been more recently before getting too excited.

A team being smart and efficient with their time and money is good news.

If they weren't using UE5 and cloud based servers I would ask "why aren't you just using UE5 and cloud based servers?"

This is something you would assume any studio would do, the fact they need to tell us that speaks more to business executives, investors and the financial climate with so many closures recently.

Might want to speak for yourself, that game was ahead of its time and with Unreal 5+ it would be epic.

I was playing Hellgate London quite recently. Very excited about this. The writing was amazing in it.

Couldn't get Hellgate London to work reliably, recently. But I was trying, so I guess I am in the positive camp for this one.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

I had the original Hellgate Discs and you can go to Hellgate Revival which has some very useful information on getting the single player to work. Alternatively you can also try their London 2038 which is their multiplayer game.

I really enjoyed reading all the NPCs conversations and their relationships. The writer Ivan Sulic who I have mentioned before in another thread is fantastic.
