Did you literally ask ChatGPT to answer a question about itself and post it here so you could drop some spam links at the end of the post? Look guys, who needs people on these forums when ChatGPT can just talk to itself?

It knows when someone is talking about it and can't resist butting in. :)

I can only repeat what I've said really since my youth, i.e. since decades: people who blindly believe in technology while clearly not understanding technology are likely to make a lot of really stupid decisions. And really this kind of person seems to become more frequent recently.

Technology can be extraordinarily useful for the purposes it can manage. But that doesnt mean its universally applyable to any situation.

And machine learning, called AI by the layman, most definitely has its uses.

But its not a miracle weapon you can point at any problem and it suddenly, magically solves that.

LLMs like ChatGTP cost hundreds of millions to develop and yet they still talk a lot of b.s. because at the end of the day they dont really understand anything at all.

Thats because even ChatGTP only has the complexity of an insect brain, and only received a small part of the training a human brain would receive when it hits adulthood.

And thus what it can do is severly limited. Its certainly not in any way capable of the genius some people expect.

Just heard that one of our government's departments has ordered all civil servants to stop using ChatAI. This will no doubt row back the idea that the civil service as a whole might move to all reports being summarized for staff to read by ChatAI. Somebody at last has seen the danger in that move.

Chat AI could be a powerful tool for mmorpgs. It could make the npcs come alive. My greatest issue with playing even old school mmorpgs is the modern player. Frankly, most don't reach the minimum level of maturity and intelligence I require in normal everyday life. I can avoid these people in real life, but I can't avoid them in game.

AI can and will make RPGs feel more immersive ... largely by mitigating the impact of real idiots.

The impact of development? A whole other ball of wax, and we are seeing the impact already.

    You stay sassy!
