I noticed from the TV series trailer they borrow a page right from Fallout 4 where the salesman who sold Vault reservations turns up 200 years later as ghoul.

MODUS didn't just find themselves with no master. The Enclave became corrupt, self-serving, and was betraying its prime directive. The Enclave decided to take down and "kill" the AI (MODUS), which you can see in the massive damage to some of the central processing area. MODUS took over the Enclave and requests help from the Vault Dweller to accomplish its tasks.

Personally, I chose not carry out Vault Tec's request. The Overseer was unhappy with my decision to nuke, but chose to remain cooperative. In the same vein, I also chose not to side with Taggerty's BOS and nuked the Scorchbeast Queen. MODUS had very compelling reasons to side with them and the new Enclave as opposed to VaultTec or BOS.

The opposing AI Kyleran is referring to is called SODUS, which went insane.

Fallout 76 is still mediocre at best. If you play it with friends you'll have a very fun time. Solo is boring as heck and you'll take ages to get much of anything done in comparison. Better off to just go play New Vegas or 4 again.

The show on the other hand is easily an 8/10. Some bad dialogue here and there and some cheap special effects and bad looking props, but it's a solid show and I look forward to seeing more of it.

Well after the apocalypse some of the props are going to be shoddy. ;)

My wife and I binge watched the whole show and quite enjoyed it, that said we haven't ever played the fallout games so can't really compare it to them etc.

We are however looking forward to season 2!

I really enjoyed the TV series!

And that's coming from someone who didn't enjoy the games. I never liked the post-apoc setting, and the combat annoyed me a lot.

    But the TV show....

Hell yeh! Great characters, awesome set design, some great background lore. The main storyline was a bit of a dud for me (the stuff with the head) but everything else was good. Whilst I don't enjoy post-apoc in games, I do enjoy it in films and tv. I even enjoyed Walter Goggins! I haven't liked him in anything else I've seen him in, but here he did a great job.

I still won't be playing the games, but I am looking forwards to season 2!

I'm like you, I enjoy post apocalyptic shows, movies, etc but can't get interested in playing a post apocalyptic game.

I've only seen two episodes but I liked it and intend to finish.

I guess I'm weird. I like both post apoc fiction and game worlds. I think my fascination with the genre stems from having grown up during the "Duck and Cover" era. A time when all out nuclear war looked anything but fictional.

I will eventually watch the Fallout Series, but don't have the time right now. However I will never play Fallout 76. No matter what that game has finally become, its launch was a giant steaming turd on the Fallout legacy. Bitter? Oh just a tad.

I'm the opposite. I'd much rather investigate and adventure in interesting worlds than watch actors. It's sort of like how I'd rather play a game than watch someone play it.

Some friends really like the show and I'm glad it's good. The last show I watched, related to game IPs, and really liked is the Netflix movie "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf". I thought it was brilliantly done, reinforced the lore, while being informative. It really filled in Vesemir's back story for Witcher 3 players like myself who haven't played the first 2 or read the novels.

I really don't understand while people keep mentioning what their other halves think of the show. If you like it they had damn better like it! I do think people who are married overthink things, don't you? ;)

Yeah I binged the season over two days and loved it too.  I've tried Fallout 1 twice and bailed.  I own later titles but really kind of want to stick it out through the first two first.
