Awesome work by these guys, if it was not for my graphics snobbishness I would be there.

Try turning on the cell shading option. It really helped "update" the look and feel of the game.

20 years already... holy molly how time flies.

I would say that 20 years later there hasnt been yet a single heroes based mmorpg game that surpassed it.

Food for though there (specially for those that dont want to see/admit that for the last 10-15 years pc gaming has been at a slump/depression).

The closest one for a little while was Champions Online before it went free to play. But it is both funny and sad how far the gaming business has fallen that in 20 years they've never made a truly successful follow up to the super hero MMORPG genre. I guess you could say the same thing with SWG, there hasn't been a good MMORPG for Star Wars since. But I have Homecoming on my PC and it won't go anywhere. A 20+ year game is that much better (graphics aside) than any new MMORPG that has launched in the last decade (or more possibly).

Congrats to the Homecoming team for keeping the dream alive! It has been a wonderful journey, with lots of nice surprises ever since the "relaunch."

I do hope they can find the strength to address some of the game's crippling endgame balance issues. It's not going to be a popular move, but something really needs to be done to curb the perfect self-sufficiency that plagues the game, rendering teamwork and certain support power sets utterly obsolete by level 50.

(I also wouldn't say no to a no-real-rewards-for-AE server, since I'm making wishes.)

Unfortunately they have not addressed the end game issues. They made a post like 4 years ago detailing what was wrong with CoHs end game and why it was in the state it was in.

And, yeah, they are systems in the game that either need a complete revamp or be removed entirely. A good place to start would be the Incarnate system.

But, they are a small team and there would be a LOT to fix.
