I know that it's economically totally unviable, but imagine if they actually stayed true to the original 8. What most of people actually like about SWTOR.

Look, a man can speculate and dream, can he not?

Sadly will never happen. The fact that their very first expansion Rise of the Hutt Cartel abandoned the class stories, the writing was on the wall less than a year after the initial launch. It's sad the class tories and even planetary stories were amazing. But everything slowed to a crawl. I, unlike others, did enjoy Fallen Empire and Eternal Throne. Overall some great storytelling even if it painted them into a corner and wasn't really good for Star Wars in general. But Sadly the game, while not what I would call maintenance mode, is one step away from it sadly. Though I hear it does still bring in a decent amount of money via the cash shop but obviously not enough to invest any of that actually back into the game sadly.

Fallen Empire and Eternal Throne were great. People sleeping on it are missing out on the closest we'll get to a KOTOR3.

I agree. I loved them but the amount of hate they got because it wasn't something that had ever been part of canon before made me laugh and also add that disclaimer. I thought exactly like you did, it was KOTOR 3 at that point and it was amazing. I agree it might not have fit in well with the current and previous story of SWTOR but it was amazing none the less for me.

I fully agree. Even though I am and was one of its biggest critics. The way they hammered that Zakuul story into the game was ... very raw. Maybe if they introduced a neutral "Outlander" class with it? I mean, they had enough money for multi-million Blur trailers...

But otherwise, yeah. If Zakuul story was a separate thing, it would be KoTOR 3. And a very good one at that. This way? It's ... damaged by being in the SWTOR framework. Imo.

they were great for the first character.  Not as fun with chars after that.  My disappointment was that there weren't even separate storylines per faction.

I thought Fallen Throne and Eternal Empire were amazing. Some of the best writing in the game.
