Congrats Sony, you've thrown away the good will you've gained with Helldrivers 2's original release and the other good ports that were released recently.

Along with throwing Arrowhead under the bus by forcing a change they did not agree with, likely causing their devs and support staff a lot of stress.

Honestly my guess is that within 2 weeks players will have forgotten about this little drama. Much like in politics, people have the memory of a gnat. As soon as the next drama bomb explodes people's attention will turn away to the next distraction. The down side of the short memory is that most people will also forget to turn their negative review back to a positive review ultimately costing Helldivers 2 sales for quite some time. Oh well these lessons often have very real financial consequences to them. Granted I don't think Helldivers or Sony will be shutting down anytime soon.

Also, I wonder if the delisting had more to do with the reversal than the negative reviews?

New players may be wary of a company that did shit like this. current players may forget. Also, probably both effected the decision.

Two weeks from now new players won't know this even happened because it will have dropped off the bottom their news feeds.

What player remember doesn't really matter, what matter is what Sony or any dev/prod remember from that, that player will fight back their bs.

For sure that would be the best outcome. Let's not tread this road again.

Sony has the hindsight ability of a 'straw house built on a coastline'.

It avoids the problem requiring such would have been for those that bought the game where the PSN doesn't even exist. This solution is probably best for Sony itself given that circumstance. If not for that they probably wouldn't have conceded the matter.
