Well, I think we can assume this title was a big steaming pile given they cancelled it so flippantly. If it was going to make them tens of millions it would not have been canceled.

It must have been a great game for Ubisoft to give it the axe. They have a reputation to protect. They can't go around making GOOD games, not when there's another Assassian's Creed to develop.

I actually was able to play Heartland. It wasn't fun. It was the division survival, and they basically focused on making it the darkzone all the time. It was just a crappy mode. The Division darkzone isn't really all that much fun for players as it is, and they took that idea and ran with it, and made it worse by adding survival mechanics.

They have a great property that they just can't figure out why people like it, and they keep magnifying the worst parts thinking they're the best parts.

This is Ubisoft in the most succinct nutshell description ever.

Honestly, nothing of value was lost. My friend and I are big fans of both Div 1 and 2, despite 2s many flaws. We usually have a ton of fun with those games playing together. Heartland was just god awful, I'm not sure who they were making that game for. It was pretty clear it was just made first and foremost to farm people's wallets for money, without anyone even for a moment thinking about how to make the game fun.

It was Divison minus any redeeming qualities, the setting sucked, the gameplay sucked, the game just sucked. It deserved the axe. How it even got to a near completed state is beyond me.
I like to complain about games.

Disappointing, but better than releasing a franchise killing game.

The Dark Zone is the main thing I disliked about Div 1. It's a cool IP and Ubi does shooty stuff well. Just don't like the pvp thing in particular.

Man, if they're counting on XDefiant to generate significant revenue then they are in deeper trouble than anyone thought. That game looks mid af. Is there any hype for it at all?

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

Ok this one is down to "focus" rather than "refocusing", once again Covid hires not being used as an excuse which is telling. Fan myself of R6S but never played RS, interesting to see how that turns out.

The article didn't mention it but they announced Division 3 a while back. This Division branch off would probably be lost in it's shadow. Besides, they can likely use much of the assets in Heartland for Div 3.

Ya I did a play test of this game what seems quite a while back. Feedback I gave was pretty much what they ended up doing. NOT to say that it was due to my feedback just that there was nothing about the "game" that would have made me play. I put a lot of hours into Division 1/2 and this thing was just... no.
