    Earth and Beyond definitely.....

The one thing in common about all of these, is mentioned, dwindling player base. For that reason alone (and yes, a variety of reasons as to why) I'd say "hell no" to them. Fresh ideas are great.

    Warhammer Online. Nothing else tbh.

With that said, things that have failed, failed for a reason. Could have they been fixed? Yes. But oftentimes these are large alterations to how Live looked like, so it's always a gamble.

The best ones on this list have private servers.  Wildstar had ardent fans but I really hated the small playthrough I got just before it shut down.  It felt even more on rails than SWTOR, but maybe that's just the starter area.

I don't remember anyone being sad about the Matrix Online.

Marvel Heroes is the one I miss as it's just a comfort MMOARPG.  The emulator still has many years to go but at least progress is being made.

Also, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, one of the greatest MMO's that never was.

    It launched. It was.
Yeah, considering how many MMOs don't actually launch even though it was a bit like an early access it did launch.

As usual, I waited for a while after Vanguard released, and then started playing it. On an SSD I had no stuttering at all and it played very well. One of the best MMO's I've ever played. I really like how crafting was a mini-game, and the classes were great.

Playing as a Necro, I could rip up the dead bodies of our foes and install their organs into my pet. :) How can you beat that?

I never had an SSD when I played Vanguard. So an SSD actually solved the stuttering and chunking when you pass the invisible zone lines? That's quite revealing. I know that Necromancers lost their pets to chunking.

I was a Dread Knight, can you imagine that Necro feature being in a new MMO now? Not going to get that "cozy" label is it? :)

    Marvel Heroes. Still miss it.

They've had their chance, make new MMOs.

I agree. These games had potential but missed the mark. We need something new and fresh. Not another WoW clone, or other boring crap. We don't want p2W, and we don't want any woke crap either. Just make a good game, and let that drive sales.

Admittedly, I didn't play it much but knew quite a few people who did. Unless I'm mistaken, the game shut down due to issues between marvel/disney and the devs, not because the game wasn't active or popular enough. I think games that shut down for reasons other than resonating with a large enough player-base should get another chance.
