Upcoming post-apocalyptic, open-world zombie MMORPG Persist Online has just been announced by CipSoft, the devs behind pioneering 1997 MMORPG Tibia.

You missed out "old-school MMORPG", this one's got every bell and whistle.
Yeah i thought the zombie craze had already ended but i guess no one shot it in the head /grin.
During the height of *everyone is making zombie games*, I recall playing H1Z1 (the survival / building version, what became just survive not the battle royal game) back the end of 2014 with my brother in law, maybe that was even beta cant recall. It had some serious glitches and lag spikes but we had fun for a while. The zombie game where the real alpha predator wasn't the zombies but the bears which would spawn in on you as if using a teleport er.
That being said this is just the kind of game i may end up playing with family at some point depending on what it looks like in early access.
Theres already quite a bit out there for the zombie survival genre...If someone is going to undertake this, then it had better be as good as or better than what we already have, and that does not look like the case here.
