    So next expac:

    - Couple new zones underground.
    - Shitty written story you rush through.
    - Then the usual daily quest grind trope afterwards + dungeons.

    WoW expacs in a nutshell.

Good luck to those who still give Blizzard their cash.

Thanks, I enjoy the shit out of it. I raid, I do M+ and I PvP! When I get bored, I'll do some xmog or mount runs and normally by that time more content it out.

Everything above you wrote is the problem with every MMO out there, not sure what else you would play in 2024? I suppose you could throw ton of cash at Ashes and have them remove a ton of promised content on release in 10 years.

    Gaming community: IRONFIST
New World: Lilith - US East
WoW Guild: IRONFIST <Burning Legion> Alliance(We transferred to Illidan)
    WoW Guild: IRONFIST <Illidan> Horde
    SWOTR: IRONFIST <Satele Shan> Empire/Republic

The problem is repetition and endlessly recycling the same idea over and over.

The haven't tried anything exciting and new anymore and keep abandoning stuff that was actually new and fun.

Like Garrisons for example. The closest thing we ever gotten to some sort of housing. They could have done so much more with this, but just abandoned it after the expac.

I, for example, also liked the Legendary Weapon concept a couple expacs ago, but this has also been abandoned as concept. Just like those long Legendary cloak quest line before that (example). Just to spice up endgame a bit and give some other things to hunt for, than endless boring daily quest grind.

Now, the last two expansions have been entirely formulaic.

Horribly written story you level (struggle) through and then it's daily quest grind and year later add new island zone with more daily quest grind.

Rince and repeat with each expac.

I know with MMO's and with content locusts and all, there will be some repetition and grinding at the endgame. Problem is, that Blizzard has lost it's magic and not trying anything new anymore.

It's been the same level through new zones, then daily quest grind for god knows how long now with each expansion.

    ----------

There is a reason why FFXIV is at the top spot now in MMO's for a long time now.

It's not perfect either, but it has good written storylines (in my opinion) with one of the best game music composers.
And when you finish leveling, the game has so much different stuff to offer to suit pretty much any playstyle.

From people that want to min/max and go into hardcore RAIDing and do EPIC weapon questlines to people that just want to chill with housing, Golden Saucer, all kinds of ongoing events, leveling ALT's, doing open world events, hunts, deep dungeons, etc, etc.

The trailer really made this sound as if this is the final story for WOW. I mean you figure at least 3-4 years for these three expansions to launch and wow is pushing 25 years. Thats a heck of a lot.

You complain about endless repetition in WoW then praise FF14.

Oh, my God that is just too hilarious.

Every single gameplay aspect of FF14 is a repetitive chore because that's the only difficulty the brain dead idiots that "play" FF14 can handle.

Suit yourself. FFXIV dev team's is on a whole different level of story writing than Blizzard. I'll be buying Dawntrail and enjoying that with my Free Company.
