Ok, so the reviewer is clearly positive on this. Any non-journo's want to corroborate or debate this pre-review? I got out of Destiny 2 when they started the whole vaulting thing on content, so it's been a minute since I played, but I have always enjoyed the actual gameplay. I wouldn't mind dusting off my D2 chops for another romp through whatever is going on with this smoking head guy if it's fun.

I found the DLC as a whole to be a 6/10. The game play and mechanics are fun, but the story has quite a few moments that are very poorly thought out. It doesn't feel like the ending that it needed to be. Even so, with the content being fun, this is very much not a 50 dollar DLC. Bungie has a habit of overcharging for this stuff. There are a lot of road bumps with reused weapon models, uninteresting armor, and the new "episodes" system just being seasons again. Overall, this DLC doesn't really do anything spectacularly new, its overpriced, and the game as a whole is still suffering from the same issues its been suffering from since at least shadowkeep. I'd suggest picking it up when its much lower in price if you want it.

I'll wait until this DLC inevitably added to XBOX GamePass, just like all DLC before.

Would play, but after the leak of Destiny 3 I already installed D2 and will never touch it again.

That's how it goes for me with live service games that require a ton of time investment.

The final straw for me (and many others) was when they started removing (vaulting) content we all paid hard cash for!

It's disgusting and haven't spend a single dime on Bungie anymore ever since.
Only tried the later expacs via my XBOX GamePass sub, when they were added and wasn't even impressed, glad I didn't waste any more money on it.

Removing content is even worse than letting players bypass it for cash.

For me, it was going in a dungeon where people who bought the deluxe or epic edition got extra loot and then another dungeon completely locked out unless you buy the expansion. I can maybe understand a questline. But a whole dungeon..... Nah, skip. There are other games to play.
