Damage control by AGS but too little too late. Even the console announcement did not spur interest in the PC version as one might expect some players to return. It has dropped below 9k players and continues to fall. North American servers are under 1000 players max per server with some much lower.

As a continuation of my weeklong rant... it seems developers struggle to bring in new players without alienating the diehard fans they've managed to keep.

Thankfully, this is one case where I read the tea leaves early and got out.

"like more Action RPG stuff, solo gameplay, and the enhanced dialogue system."

    - So more like an action RPG then. If your new content is ARPG and that is the "focus" what else are we going to call this?

"the reason Amazon Games chose to incorporate more solo elements into New World, though the team reassured me that no multiplayer content would be removed or that multiplayer content would be discouraged through this update"

    - The more solo play there is the more it discourages multiplayer play, any of us old vets know this.

"What players don’t realize is that there is a large percentage of people that want solo content.”

    - Have these guys even played a MMO before NW? Crikey!

" Aeternum will allow players to play on the scale they want, whether it be through solo content or more intense large-scale group raids. That applies to our PvE content as well.” He went on to say. “You can do solo instances now, and solo trials. You can do five-person expeditions, or you can do them with ten."

    - I will say they mentioned new multiplayer content coming down the line, but there is a clear direction of travel here. Ever more solo. Now I have mentioned many times in the past that's the route every MMO goes down, slowly but surely. What I think we are going to see here is an acceleration of that process, one that's really easy to spot.

Having recently returned ang leveled a new character point of view: A lot of guessing still going on, even after their latest dev video targeting computer players. Again, AGS at its finest. My take, nothing is being taken away. They added some solo trials and took away the requirement for group content in the MSQ. I don't think they are making the dungeons soloable. They had already branched some of the MSQ where you have a choice, do the quick group dungeon or a soloable quest that takes a bit longer.

Getting a 10 man 3 boss raid. My speculation is that is just what it will be, 3 bosses.

The PvP island makes zero sence to me. Nobody asked for it. Players wanted more OPR maps and different types of objectives. Disclaimer, i am not a pvp player but still....

No talk on wars. Which really only effects a very tiny percentage of the population due to its fundamental flaws.

I think it is just their language that has everyone confused. Purely targets console audience. AGS broke up with their computer audience last week, via text message.

That being said, i am a sucker and will be there Oct 15th.
