The reviews are not good. Combat seems to be a second thought.

Their communication has been spot on. Multiple updates every day. I think there were 6 yesterday. And their explain what they are doing in a pretty easy to follow manner.

As for the packages... the $100 package is the exact same game as the $30 one. They just have more land and more character slots. They also get a few extra cosmetic recipes. I didn't see the attraction of the higher packages, but I guess if you planned to solo it could be useful.

Combat is functional, not spectacular. Again, if you solo it's going to be a much harder game than in a group. I finally got to play some last night and we spent a few hours clearing out a few ruins and killing some named mobs that dropped recipes or other loot.

I wonder about the additional plots too. If you are with a group and everyone has one plot, seems like it would be enough.

I do think this game emphasizes community and guilds and grouping so I will be curious if thats restrictive in terms of player numbers or maybe refreshing as it has a different focus.

You can use the plots separately, so basically have several different homes/buildings/whatever or you can put them together and have one large home/building/whatever.

Not sure I would drop a Ben Franklin on that though. I do not even do that for games I love. :)
