Final Fantasy 14 has announced server-hopping restrictions for the Dawntrail launch, including server and data center lockdowns, plus AFK timeouts.

    Normal expansion restrictions and instances introduced. This time there's also new data centres, with a temporary eu one which will be reviewed as Dawntrail progresses.

    There is no real reason to Data center travel at the beginning on an expansion (outside of Hunt trains), so i think this is mostly to just remind people to go back home beforehand so they aren't marooned off their home server.

    I rarely leave my own server of Ultros for anything, outside of the rare occasion something I really need isn't on my servers AH. So doesn't affect me in the slightest.
