Let me help you: It's a looter shooter.

And a pretty good one, too. But if Nexon finds a way to mess up monetization, that won't be worth much.

Anyway, despite the weird thirst trap semi-porn aesthetics (similar to Dead or Alive, Vindictus or BDO) and the ever-looming p2w threat of Nexon, I am pretty hyped for this game. Plays like a slower Warframe with much better gunplay and a lot of stuff copied from Destiny, too.

Warframe has really good gunplay, IMO. And while I'll definitely be trying this game, Warframe is the one and only king of third person looter shooters for good reason.

The reason: The only third person looter shooters to ever exist are Anthem, The Division and Warframe.

Also: Warframe is my favourite game of all time and I will play it until the day I die. For 99 reasons - but its gunplay ain't one.

And Suicide Squad. And Outriders. Honestly the less said of all of Warframe's competitors, the better.

And frankly, the only one on the market that had better gunplay was Anthem.

Different strokes for different blokes. I definitely liked The Division's gunplay better than Warframe's and somehow couldn't stand Anthem's, although both of them had enemies far too spongey for my liking, so the overall gameplay didn't satisfy me.

But you do you. See you on July 2nd. Or not. I am sure it makes no difference to either of us.

I've watched some videos but don't see anything mentioning Yujin or Blair. Maybe they had different names in the most recent test?

I prefer playing in first person and creating my own characters, but I am willing to give this a try. I hope there will be a good bit of ways to customize your playstyle.

I still miss Anthem. I wish Bioware would have doubled down on it and fixed bugs/added content instead of giving up on it. Bethesda didn't give up on Fallout 76 and it's thriving now.

I played the beta for this and it was extremely enjoyable. It does have that range of collecting your characters like warframe so might take a bit to get that one you really want. About the only thing I didn't enjoy was the forced grouping for some things that you are required to do. I don't really play shooters like this to play with others unless I really feel like it. Other than that I had a blast. Some of the content can be a challenge if you are not using the right character or don't really know how to play them that well. Overall this is one I have been waiting on ever since I first played it.

Yeah I played an early Beta and it's fun. Warframe needs some competition. The only thing I didn't like was the Bunny character. She's just ridiculous. Grown women running around in a prophylactic bunny suit. Ok. Few mental issues there, and let's not forget about the whole objectifying women thing. Nothing to see here! Totally normal for combat soldiers to wear suits so tight you can see up their crack. I'm a dude and a pretty conservative one at that and even I think it's in poor taste. Pure FAP material. It stands out even more because all the other characters are tastefully done. Oh well. That wouldn't keep me from playing the game. I just cringe at trying to justify to my wife and kids what's on the screen.

There's more to gunplay than just the aiming and shooting. The Division's got good gunplay, but it's still just a cover shooter, and the grounded setting still holds it back from having Warframe's gun variety. Gun variety matters. There's something for everyone. Case in point, I'm a burst fire guy, and Warframe has the best burst guns in the genre between the Tiberon, Sybaris, and Zylok. Not to mention all the crazy awesome beam guns, elemental weapons, glaive launchers, etc.

And yes, I am playing The First Descendant today, and it's pretty good. Maybe I'll play both, maybe I'll finish the story and be done with it. Depends on how well Nexon supports the thing.
