    Lol another flop from AGS.

..another flop? You mean New World? I think they sold 17 mil copies until 2 years ago. At $50 that's a massive hit, not a flop. And I assume they sold some more copies in this 2 years also.

    So yea, but no!

And Lost Ark is also not even a little, a flop. A massive success too.

Game floped in Korea but the devs are pushing big changes fro the global

we will see how it does

Korea and the west are two different audiences so "we" very well might have a more positive outlook.

I do think this game will go like many others ... there will be a huge rush, they'll tout a million sign-ups or something like that and then it will go down to more manageable numbers.

I still think the animal changing thing is gimmicky and crap.

The visuals are nice. I personally don't mind the flashy bit. It actually seems more subdued than BDO by quite a bit. However this trailer doesn't really show any gameplay. The bit with the giant, for example, seems like "click here to break wall" and the rest of it is just canned animation. Also, transforming into an otter is not a selling point at least for me. Maybe we can transform into squirrels and throw acorns at our enemies and make silly chittering sounds while we run circles around tree trunks? Sounds very heroic.

I like changing form if its for a class like the druid or a shapeshifter
But when everyone does it its poor taste
And I havent seen anywhere explained how everybody got their metamorphosis powers
Its just a thing someone thought would be cool and they went with it
    I 100% prefer mounts

Not a fan of the shape shifting as well but it does lead to some interesting raid boss mechanics.

Like, a boss does a tidal wave attack and to avoid it you have to zip line up to a rock to jump over the wave then in mid air change to a bird and glide down so you don't fall onto the wave.

Well we can all see for ourselves on July 18 - July 23 for the open beta. My expectations are low but I'll try anything for free.

The animal shapeshifting is clearly designed to get people to buy skins from the cash shop.

AGS is great at launching games but is not so good at maintaining them.

AGS is great at launching games but is not so good at maintaining them.

They have done an admirable job maintaining New World, lots of content updates.

Lost Ark isn't up to them. Content gets released when SmileGate says it does.

And Amazon will get blamed when Throne and Liberty has a content drought shortly after launch when NCsoft is at fault. But, that's just the fun of publishing foreign MMOs.

I will agree to disagree for many, many reasons. I have over 700 or 800 hours in the game and been a big supporter until recently. I feel like  the game is in a "where do we go from here"  moment that could make or break it.

God, I hate that art style. I can suck it up of the game is good. It looks decent but is it decent enough to get past that Asian art...

    Starborn. lol

Just reminds me that Starfield is shit, and this game appears to be, too.

I'm over 4k hours but haven't played in months. AGS has NOT been great about adding content. They completely failed to capitalize on a very strong launch and lost a massive number of players as a result. The most common phrase I hear about the game is that it has "good bones" but isn't managed well. And that matches up with my personal experiences in game.

Agree. AGS built a game that requires and must have a population. You must have the numbers to do wars and events. Even seasonal bosses require a good number of players. When you strip that out of the game, you are left with leveling professions but not everyone wants to max those, running dungeons for gear and resources, and limited time events. I love so much about the game but it all falls apart at the end game and months after months of doing it, people just move on.

Look at numbers. Servers in the US are barely breaking 900. And competition is coming fast in the coming months with numerous game launches. And the issue that plagued the game like one company basically owning an entire server have not been fixed. Entire factions are drying up on some servers.

Many games draw me back in from time to time. Diablo 4 with the seasons, Fallout 76 with the new region, WOW with Panda remix and the coming expansion, etc... but New World has nothing on the horizon to do so. Is more content coming? When? We have heard nothing except "console console console" for months. My "the game is not in a good state" Spidey sense is tingling.

EDIT: And to add to that, the game is 60% off on the summer sale. And servers numbers are lower than ever. No bump from the sale seems to have happened. That says something to me.

Just remember how bad the Lost Ark and New World Launches were under Amazon, especially in Europe, before you go big with any "founders packs"
