While I do enjoy the game there just isnt enough end game or enough things to do solo. There is a core group of people that still play and can make the game fun! but if they busy or not around you are left alone to the chore and grind that gets a bit mindless.

Its not a bad game and excited to see where it ends up!

The devs said they wanted a niche game, and they got that.  25 players are having fun, thats about how many in Testing said they liked the hard core mechanics.

We tried to tell them to build to a larger playerbase.

    Told them to add
    Bind stones,
    Summons
    Better loot
    More inventory
    Remove corpse run death penalty.

Wouldnt have taken much, but these devs thought they would appeal to 10k concurrent players.  Guess they badly misjudged and this is what they got.

They choose to punish players with petty penalties instead of letting the players enjoy the game and have fun.

Well this is what they made, and it turned out with an extremely small playerbase just as predicted during testing.

Yeah the small inventory is the worst, I don't know how they can stand it.

What you call “punishing “ is not the issue except for you and people like you.

The actual issue is there isn’t much there.

The start for a new player is deadly dull to begin with.

All the other stuff you are bothered with is fine.

I logged in again to see if I could notice any changes:
    - The UI still looks terrible on my machine
    - I was killed by a rabbit in three hits
    - I saw not one other player
    - I have 5 open quests with absolutely no clue how to continue them since the instructions are all relative to the location of the quest giver which I cannot see on a map.
    - I spent two hours walking around avoiding any mobs to try to find quest givers so I could make sense of "east of here". I died three times. At the end of the third corpse run, it was confirmed that this game isn't for me.

This game is irrelevant now that EverQuest 2 has the new Origin server. A lot of the players that may be interested in playing, are busy playing EQ2.

Why would you think that? It's just another progression server. Such existed before Embers Adrift came out and continued on after. It didn't prevent their modest success and there is no reason to believe this one will suddenly undermine it.
