They said they are going to wipe multiple times. Characters. Skills. Items. Land. Most people who stopped playing did so because they grew bored. When the next big update comes there will likely be a wipe anyhow.
If they want to wipe a plot at launch and you are paying for that plot then I would have an issue with it. But to remove abandoned plots at this point just seems like a nothing burger. And I'm sure it will improve performance for those still playing.
I think it will be interesting to see the impact some of these big towns though. If big chunks of their town sudenly disappear that would be... interesting. Especially if those still playing don't have the slots to be able to claim the now vacant land. And I wonder how that would affect structures that straddle multiple plots. Dominos?

Right? There are big settlements using 20 plots. If one or two of those players has some real life stuff taking up their time will the devs delete their plots and leave the town? I'm guessing No. That creates another issue then if some people are exempt simply because they're part of a town the devs don't want to break apart.
They will have parameters for what they delete. They will most likely look at how long its been since the player has logged in, how long they played when they did, are they part of a community or guild, etc...
I have not regretted supporting a few games in early access like Last Epoch. They turned out to be good but these types of games I won't support. Too many possibilities for the game to never launch.
Do players get that plot allowance back after the next wipe? If so, then it isn't a big deal imo. No one loses anything in the end.
If players pay $40 and then don't get their plots back after the next wipe, then there is a huge problem.
Not like this game is going to go anywhere either way.
You can instantly put down a new plot if you delete your old plot so yes, anyone affected should be able to do so going forward as well. But of course if they built a house... that will be gone. But that's the nature of a wipe and part of early development.

Hey, I paid $40 for my plot they better not remove it. Wtf. If the purchase of plots in this game was supposed to be our subscription, how the hell can they delete them?? I may not play as often as some others but does that mean my subscription money is worth less?
This game was a wreck at launch a month ago and I see no action taken to prove they know what the hell they're doing.
i wonder if on STEAM would removing plots be a good argument for a full refund or at least refund to wallet. but then again it is EA and they do say there will be wipes so it is the same difference
omg you people.
This is not a launched game. There will be wipes where your plot are completely removed, active or not.
This is a test/work in progress game.
This is why "early access" has issues as players think (for some reason) they are just playing the game and eventually more content will come down the pike. Not the case.
If you don't want to deal with multiple wipes or plot removal wait until it launches (if it launches).
i agree with what you are saying however ......... what the argument for refund i was saying would be ...... is now pax dei is saying you have to play our game weekly (i'm making the time frame up) or we wipe your personal plot that YOU have paid for and put so many hours into ..... they are not wiping the whole server yet but wiping YOUR PLOT , so they dont value your time , like i have 200hrs into the game , so now i go on a 2 week vacation and come back and my stuff is gone ???? but everyone else has theirs ????? not saying the argument is sound but people would be pissed and maybe steam would give you credit to your wallet idk
In truth I don’t know exactly what they’ve said regarding early access and plots in relation to selling “early access.”
Their stance seems to be that they want too have active players accommodated. Therefore they want to make sure there is an active world.
The problem seems to be that once a person or persons finishes their plot(s) there isn’t much else to do.
So no incentive to play.

I doubt they will go around and do it randomly.
