    Popup awards show.

Won't be biased at all.... and how can you get mmo of the year if you didn't release this year? And why is a battle royal game turding up an mmo?

And if it is an mmo award show, why is there content creator awards? And and?

I guess since its esports and content creators, you have to make up the challenge and the reward to make yourself seem special.

I suppose that one could look at it as a way to bring attention to mmorpg's. Maybe there are people who never played one and were reticent to try one but perhaps this could whet someone's appetite?

Also, one "could" have an mmo of the year if what is judged is how much content and how good the content was for the entire year. So events, dlc, etc.

This awards show, like all awards shows, is meaningless.

You are correct. They are trying to bring attention to one MMO that is releasing very soon. This is an attempt at hype by the only company on the block that is aggressively trying to attract the MTX / streamer crowd.

Here you go, the game of the year goes to..... Dun Dun Dun.... Dragon Flight
    Streamer award goes to Eiya....

Come back and post if I am wrong.

No offense to the person putting this together, but this might be what scraping the bottom of the MMO barrel looks like—or at least one of the bottom corners of the barrel—where a couple tiny droplets of MMO liquid remain.

And that's my retrained and filtered hot take on this. People can read my unfiltered, full-hot take by heading on over to my Patreon page after pleading $10.

I'm joking of course. But just imagine some content creator out there is taking people's money to listen to their opinions as we speak.

Feels (and looks) like some random guy is nominating games to promote himself. Boring and meaningless.

Don't worry about there not being many awards for MMOs, it is an awards show which all suffer from "award creep". By next year there will be a few more categories to award and a few more the year after that. That's what happens world wide; from school awards, to TV awards to the Olympics, more and more and more categories need awards. Yeah! ;)

Well with the way things are going there will be an award for best gaming award show created by a streamer. >:)

    Greatest Multiplayer Game.... Solitaire

    Best Graphical Explosions .... Minesweeper

Highest MTX Game return on investment... To be determined

Good initiative, but ultimately pointless. There's no guarantee the judges aren't getting paid under the table to push certain things, and no matter who wins an award, there's always going to be that uncertainty.
