Amazon Games' MMORPG New World could be seeing its world adapted for a new video game anthology series, according to a new report by Deadline. The show , dubbed Secret Level, would include New World, as well as many other game IPs as part of the series.

    The story is about 17th century ships washed up on a mysterious island, secret societies and ancients who went too far with their magi-tech. I see some sermons on ecological and colonization issues incoming. :)

    Story was pretty vague. Batshit crazy chick speaks to you in your brain and wants you to join her for reasons. You decline (not that you actually have a choice of course) for reasons. Mass murder hoboing ensues. I guess on the plus side they can pretty much do anything they want with the story and not have the lore nerds jumping down their throats. Not that there's more than a handful of them anyway.

    If Amazon is hoping a show will draw people to the game like it did for Fallout - wish I had the 76 increase numbers post show launch handy - they're probably in for an unpleasant surprise. Fallout has so much history and lore, and a familiarity within the public due to the success of all the games. I think this is a horrible waste of money along the lines of ARK the animated series...

    I am afraid the reasoning went like this...Amazon has game, Amazon makes TV shows, let's make a TV show of the game. Of course they may make a darn good TV series and people will flock to it just because it is good. But it sounds like it is going to be expensive so it will needs to do famously and few TV shows do that well.

    What they gunna do, Just have the first episode get to a point where the main characters cannot progress the storyline, then wait 8 months for something to happen that fixes it so we might get episode 2?

    So its an anthology series so my guess would be an episode focused on the game and most likely the lore setting? It would be awesome if they include The Secret World as well.

    Episode 1:  A newly shipwrecked protagonist barely scrapes out a living by pulling handcarts for merchants.  He asks about horses, and they talk about the history of the region and how no mounts exist in this strange, magical place. 

    Episode 6: One of the most expensive battle scenes ever shot: Calverymen by the hundreds battle it out for the soul of Aeternum.

    I expect the series to be about as coherent as Lost.

    Secret World was one of my biggest disappointments in gaming....I remember reading about it in beta, and it sounded like it was going to be so good.....then I played it...worst combat system ever.....a huge disappointment in my book.
