    It depends on the cow.

Do you really fight cows? The picture above looks like a chameleon.

My issue is that the new player starts on a long road where you are killing bunny looking things, deer and then some difficult bandits.

    Not really exciting.

I WISH they'd make a starter "dungeon" or temple where new players can go and explore and fight zombies or undead or something interesting.

In Lineage 2 at Dark Elf Village we had, if memory serves, School of Dark Arts. The Light there was a Light Elf version as well, both great places to level.

I haven't encountered any, but would not be at all surprised if cows are present somewhere in the game to be killed. If so, the bulls may be aggressive. If you attack a doe it will vocalize distress and if a buck is nearby it will aggro on you.

They did put in a basic underground that fills the role of a starter dungeon that can even be soloed for those that wish that experience. For a small company they actually do a fair bit to expand on the established base for the game.

I have gone from asking for less garish colour in Star Reach, to asking for some colour in EA.

If there is still a chance for this game is to go to steam as f2p with battlepass
And make it very solo friendly.

Because, why not. They've had to compromise their vision so much they might as well go all the way.

I love how people say this game is a grouping game.  Sorry to say but it is 100% not a grouping game.  It might want to be a grouping game, but its not.  Here is a few reasons why.

    1) Almost nobody is even grouping in this game.  The most obvious reason.

    2) No Recall - Anyone with a life that does a deep dive into a dungeon and needs to leave for 30min- 1hr for dinner/kids etc... Is pretty much stuck without a way to get home, other than losing all their stuff.

    3) No Summons - You cant summon a replacement to the group.  If you are in a difficult area that take 6 people to kill mobs and lose someone, then your entire party is pretty much screwed.

    4) Time - It takes so long to form a group and get to the destination whats the point.

    5) XP - Debuff, This game gives players a massive XP penalty for grouping.  They put a huge XP debuff on higher level mobs, forcing people to kill lower level mobs.  Additionally you have to split the XP with 5 others but cant kill 6x as fast as you could solo.

    6) Player Level Spread - Low level players have trouble even participating with higher level players due to max resistances to damage debuffs put into place for lower levels.  So the higher level mobs have more health, more damage, damage buffs to lower levels, higher resistances to lower levels, lower XP debuffs for lower levels.

    7) Quests - Instead of everyone in the group getting the reward on completing the objective, only the quest holder gets one.  So everyone is on different quests, why even group.  You cant share quests either.

    8) Harvesting Items - Always 1 trade is making bankroll in a specific dungeon.  If you are killing wolves then skinners are making a killing, they spend all their time skinning while group has to wait.  Same with other harvesting in other dungeons like mining ...

    9) Class specific items/weapons - They lock specific class items behind specific dungeons, so all the tank taunt items are in 1 dungeon, all the DPS items in another, all the healer items in another.  Someone is always getting jacked.  If you solo you can at least get the items you need.

    10) Group Finder - Their group finder is so bad.  No custom Text box to say what the group is doing, if you are level 10 you have to choose to advertise to either level 15 or level 5 no middle ground.  Therefore nobody even uses this, and they dont have another system.

I could list more but you get the point.  I am not saying its a solo game either.  I can come up with a similar list for solo.  Just shows this game is for NOBODY.  Which is why they dont have a playerbase.

So there is no ability like a gate or hearthstone? Holy smoke that is awful. Single most important thing for me and a terrible decision on their part not to have it.

Yeah, I agree. The starting zones are dull, it's a huge turn off right from the beginning.

If you think the starting zone is dull, wait till you see the 2nd zone.

Everyone I played with thought the best part of the game was levels 5 - 20  (50 is max).

This game at its core could have been fun, but the Devs just dont understand what Fun looks like.

There are fun parts to this game, but bad system design really take its toll the longer you play.

What do you expect from a Dev team that never played an MMO before starting this project.  Also in general the entire dev team has almost no experience in video games at all.  (But hey they are avid book readers, that came in handy they say)

The most experienced people on the team as gamers were a server GM that wasnt even being paid and a community manager / streamer.  Neither of these people were either designers or coders.

I don't mind a slow paced game. However there are certain things I will not accept and looks like this game has those in spades. Difficult to even consider playing when I read these negatives.

It's pretty telling when the CM who is also a streamer is usually streaming any game but the one she works for.

Don't know why Salrla got banned, keep your posts "clean" guys; that's two bans recently and we can ill afford to lose people.
  • XiaokiXiaoki Member EpicPosts: 4,045
Yeah, hopefully more and more people get banned.

If MMORPG is going to ban people for making jokes about cows then this rotten community isn't worth saving.

Many won't enjoy it and anyone considering playing the game should try it well first. The appeal is heavily niche.

Hopefully it wasn't the cow thing. I found that amusing because the power of animals in the game can vary greatly without much in the way of difference in their visuals. You have to take care in trying to solo an animal if has more than one chevron by it's name, especially if the colour of them indicate the level of it to be much higher than your own.

She streamed before becoming their community manager so has more than one log in her fire.

LOL I just read on the Embers discord, the lead dev literally is whining that reddit and other places always completely trash his game.  Even linking to the thread from their own fanboy forums still is massive negative.

How this dev thinks getting massive negative feedback from every forum for 2 years and still thinks the only issue with the game is lack of people.

Geez this dev needs a reality check.  He has between 3 and 25 people playing this game at any one time.  Why you think that is?

The game blows dude, wake up already.  Even free people try and leave.  Those few fanbois on the forums are totally feeding you BS.  Get a clue and fix your game already.

You cant bring the price much farther than FREE.

I am, and so is everyone else.

But, hey, at least when this game closes down and the studio shuts down they can at least say their dead game wasn't like every other game out there.
