Dungeons & Dragons online New Loot system

R1ncewindR1ncewind Member UncommonPosts: 3
So I'm going to make this short, DDO just lunch their newest expansion last week, and they introduced a new Loot system, "rare" items, thing is is almost a 1/4 of the items of the expansions and most are needed to really replace old gear and get the power creep up to the new standards. This new "rare" items are so fucking rares that wholes guilds have been trying to get some of this items withouth any luck... and you would say but dulkhan whats the issue? haven't you play any Korean mmo? the thing is they allow "rerolls" on chest for just a few bucks... and you get the drill...
I really hope MmoRpg site get this to the public so we can put some pressure in the company

I played DDO a long, LONG time ago, but the game's problem is that so did everyone else!  I doubt the game will attract any new players anyway, so any perceived problems will be moot.

Hmmm, I've tried it sporadically over the years but for the last month or so I've made it my sole mmorpg. I want to actually experience later and more challenging content.

I'm ok with rare drops as I started with Lineage 2. I remember wanting a Demon Staff and for 3 days I would grind mobs with the hopes of getting one. And lo and behold I did! I was prepared to do that for 2 weeks.

Then again, I was fully immersed in the grindy nature of the game, the slow leveling, the breaking of items if one enchanted them above a certain level so it wasn't a thing. I don't know if "rare items" will be a thing for me in the near future or if they are just for high level players but we'll see.

The skill system and the quests are very well done. Problem is that the game is old. Damn and the lagging , this is why I don't play.

The game is grindi but have always been reasonable. but this system is ridiculous , chances are so low to get what you want that makes old rare drop ragnarok a joke. but then again you didn't have a system in play that you couldn't kill something after certain number of time if you wanted to get the item that monster drop ´

For the very first time in my MMORPG playing experience I died from lag in the game.

entered an interior, enemies spawned and everything stopped.

tried to spam attacks hoping someone of it would hit and then the game caught up and I was dead.  :D

Last time I tried it was probably 3 years ago or so and I kept running into dungeons that wouldnt allow me in as a free player.

I believe you can earn the dungeons. There was a way to unlock them for F2P players. I do think that some content should be paid for otherwise how would they make money. They did have a big giveaway of content.

Kinda is dead. It's got a band of die hards and the random daycationer. Once most people realize you either have to dump $$$$ or grind forever they quit. I use to really enjoy this game then they went crazy with reincarnation and the reaper stuff it's nothing but edgelord neckbeards now.

What’s a cash limit on free to play?

I think there are quests that you have to use turbine points for. I do know they had a quest giveaway not long ago and gave away a lot of content. It might still be available.

The cash limit is very, very high. I don't think I have ever earned even a fraction of that amount in pp as a subscriber of the game. I always subbed anyway so everything was open to me and I never reached anywhere near that amount.

I understand though but I feel sometimes that F2P players are too greedy.

I remember picking the Monk purely because of the cool combat moves it had, normally I don't even bother with animations but I saw that on a video and thought "that's for me".

I enjoyed my time there, about two years but would never back, having said that there are very few MMOs I would even consider going back to.

Was years ago I looked up the limits of free to play and one of the first things that came up was the limit on the ingame currency gold or whatever it is, maybe that changed idk, I noped out of there and didn't even bother giving the game a chance after looking up gameplay videos seeing the graphics and saw complaints on reddit over lag, literally am more comfortable pouring cash into what I currently am playing which is runescape, I pay a monthly fee and buy a few cosmetics, I have spent more money ingame on that game then I am ever going to be willing to spend on dungeons and dragons and I'm fine with that.

I know a game developer/publishers needs to make money and I am willing to support what I feel is worth supporting but there's better things out there, I set the bar since I started playing games that if there's a cash limit for f2p even if I pay a sub I won't touch it, that's my rule one of many just like I how refuse to buy anything from blizzard because I hate them as a company.
Ah I see it’s maximum money a player can have in game.

personally think that’s unnecessary. I don’t like it when developers hold back things one needs to play the game like additional hotbars or bag space. I’d rather them limit parts of the game itself like limiting dungeons or quests.

I know Lord of the RIngs Online had a cash limit but never made it far enough in DDO to find out if it did.

I don't know if they increased the gold limit, but they did open up things a fair bit recently. Many classes and races that once required purchase no longer do. There is also a code that opens up a lot of content that also once had to be bought that they release fairly often. So, it is at least better in that regard but still has lag.
