The free-to-play third-person shooter Marvel Rivals now has a set release date of December 6th, and with it came the news that all characters will be free-to-play at launch.

    The more they "give away" for free, the more wary I become of the monetization. I guess they already have a battle pass, but it's all cosmetic. The player survey floated the idea of "lottery tickets" (loot boxes?) which is pretty shady.

    However, all in all, I guess I won't complain too much if absolutely everything you can spend money on is cosmetic or gives you a chance at a premium cosmetic.

    The more I hear the name "Marvel" the more wary I become....It feels like every other movie now is something involving Marvel

    Blizzard had it's chance to keep it's 8+ year old Overwatch relevant with OW2. I think fans of the genre will definitely be checking out Rivals. It seems just as polished and the Marvel characters could bring in a wider audience.

    Marvel rivals is insanely fun. They found a way to make over the top hero kits that are still balanced from the gestalt perspective.
