You know, could save a whole lot on space and having to pay article writers if y'all stop reporting that so-and-so games have the same events at this time of year that they've had for the last 20.

There's a point when anyone who actually cares about these events already knows about these events.

I'm sure they can spare the virtually zero amount  of space these announcements require.

Been playing ESO for the last month.  It’s been a few years since I last played.  The amount of content is just staggering.

I've had a love/hate with ESO, it's never been a lack of content.

I struggled with the combat for years, and never could get into it, but for me I just wanted the PvP to be more like DAoC than it is. So much potential, but I just struggle to stay for long periods, it's like a few months and then off for a year or so. Play the new stuff, experience what it is, have some fun on some alts, and then....that's it.

I just don't have the fun repeating content like I have in the past with other games. Sure, I can level in different zones, or do different stories, but once it's done, the magic ends for me. Not entirely sure why. The other part? I assume it's a "me" issue, but I struggle to recall fun adventures, or good times. I still remember amazing stuff in UO, EQ, SWG, DAoC, and even WoW when it came out. I know I played differently, and was different then, but those games all left marks. ESO? Not quite sure that it does for me, and I wish it did.

I too just starting playing again after several years not playing and I have to agree with you and for the first time I am actually paying attention to the story lines, some of them are pretty good.

Yeah so far we have only spent one night in Cryodill.  It was actually really fun for us as we had a small group and were running around trying to pick off small POIs like farms etc... then we joined the zerg for a bit and took a few keeps. I am sure that if we did it for months on end it would get stale, but that night it was actually a lot of fun.

For PvE we are just making our way through the story.  We all made new characters since it's been a long time since we played (I had 5 other level 50's on my account already). I think the last time I played was Summerset.  So we agreed that anything up to that we could solo, and all the zones after that one we would run the stories as a group.   We still have a long long way to go before we get through it as we are just finishing up Southern Elswyre now.

Normal play loop is to login, do crafting writs (I also started 100% fresh on my new character despite having other crafters on the account), run daily random dungeon for the huge XP boost, run 1 Undaunted Pledge dungeon, then hit a zone.  Since you can join 5 player guilds at a time, we joined a few active ones so we supplement that with the occasional Trial or other guild function.

The graphics hold up really well for a decade old game.  We went and got a few of the NPC Companions which really help if you want to solo a bit, or 2 or 3 man even a veteran dungeon.  There are so many little delves (dungeons) you can hop into and while many of them are cookie cutters, some of them are really unique or have some fun puzzles or layout.

A few nights ago we were just discussing the concept of playing ESO like a co-op MMORPG and how it's story and content kind of dwarf even a game like BG3.  I mean, if you actually listen to the stories, or read them... an amazing amount of work went into it.

Anyhow,  Not here to shill for ESO.  I am sure we will run out of content at some point, but it's been a fun ride so far.

PS: We also play it with the subscription active but make no further purchases. Just as a point of reference.

I don't make alts in games I mainly just alt games.  Eso is one of my alt games but it's been awhile since I've played.  I play a magesorc and last time I played I got bored fairly fast was probably the shortest amount I played didn't even make it a full subbed month.

It was probably partly my own fault I burnt myself out going after the one bar ring and when I got it got bored with my one bar sorc Lol.

One other gripe I have is I wish I could made my familiar invisible out of combat in 3rd person the dang wings flapping I'm and out of the screen drive me crazy.  Yes I know I can put him away...

It's been two xpacs since I've been back it's on my radar but most likely will be a bit before it eso time.

This sounds like fun & a good reward vs effort ratio, but I haven't played in a drought of time & would probably be totally lost.

It was over 5 years for me I think.   I just made a new character and it went well. Progression after your character gets to level 50 is account based so it doesn't really matter other than the time it takes to hit 50 (which was really short...)

I had the same issues with the game...It just didnt grab me like msot RPGs do....I found myself just running around aimlessly alot it felt like...I dont remember the city but its where a hub had multiple stories and tryin gto find NPCs in that building was just a nightmare....Also hated the combat....didnt like that mobs leveled up to you no matter where you were, just doesnt feel realistic.
