    I agree. Solid game. The kind of game you can play in 1-2 hour sesions for some weeks and feel satisfied once completed. Good visuals, good sound, good gameplay, good writing.

    I would describe it as a "professional" game. It simply does the job, doesn't pretend to be more, and it does it relly well.

    This is what gaming was not so long ago. I miss those days.

    Yeah I agree with the above assessment. As a big fan of the original, this installment does everything better than the original and adds big new features to boot (Operations and PvP). However, none of that is really groundbreaking as other games have done the exact same. Specifically Operations are almost a copy/paste from the Fatshark games Vermintide 1/2, and Darktide. The difference is that the Fatshark games lack a true campaign mode with a story. They make up for it in that there's much more content, but they are also much older games and have had more time. Potentially Space Marine 2 could get there. It depends on what they are trying to achieve. PvP is your basic shooter PvP from any number of competitive shooter games. It doesn't even have any particular interesting game modes (yet) like maybe a payload map or capture the flag. Both of those would add a level of strategy to PvP that is currently lacking in the team DM and capture+hold modes.

    Anyway, what is there is very well done. Minimal bugs, visceral action, very true-to-lore visuals, story, and dialog. It's a solid base game and very welcome entry to 40k. Hopefully they will build upon it and add new maps, classes, weapons, and enemies to keep it fresh over time. I really like the game and I think the 8.5 is fair.

    Definitely a solid game. Very good job bring the 40k universe to life. Best with friends in co-op. Only nitpicks would be matchmaking load times seem to take overly long sometimes and tricky to get a 3rd person from matchmaking when you are already in a party of 2 besides inviting from your steam friends, otherwise you get a lackluster bot. Hopefully the matchmaking quality gets addressed in next patch.

    Uh? Ironically, rank grind in PvP is the only thing I never worked on and I'm few kills away for the last missing achievement to 100% the game.

    Multiple Playthroughs of Operations are an absolute must for:
    Max out more clases, try different builds with said classes
    Max out weapons (via learning maps and all spawn points of loot)
    Unlock achievements

    There is no incentive of multiple playthrough of the story beside collecting all the dataslates.

    In my opinion, the biggest problem is its graphics, which are relatively weak in 2024, but the other aspects are really excellent. If you want to know which are the best exchanges, you can read the articles on the site in this profile . site

    Warhammer is so generous with their licensing that some of them are bound to work out. I think it may actually get more games than Star Wars used to in the pre-EA era.
