I still haven't decided if this is a legitimate company or if it's just a few people building the equivalent of a movie town facade. Lot's of red flags from things like apparently faked company HQ photos, addresses that show some college campus in Turkey, grand promises with no notable experience...

Let's just say I am skeptical.

But no harm in joining a beta. If someone gets in please let us know how it goes.

Quinfall is a fun story, it went from "OMG SCAM" to an actual game, despite it being indie and rough as so many are, it has the features and content there.

It's polar opposites, Quinfall was the asset flip scam, and Pax Dei was the hyped savior of the sandbox MMO... End of the day it is Pax Dei that is a heavily featureless and contentless game with fancy graphics.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this game develops. It looks pretty good so far.

It's like they have the features there, but it's PROPER rough, a lot of polish, visual, mechanically as well, such as the combat to the game can play less wonky.

Can't expect big budget quality out of this obviously, but if they manage to bring existing stuff to a decent quality tier that doesn't feel overly wonky and frustrating and I think it will work out.

This type of sandbox approach is rare to find in current MMOs so gg, bring back wurm online/etc vibes.

The crafting and the gathering kept me watching the video. The idea of having ships you could build on looked really interesting. That being said the combat looks terrible. It's a shame they're basing everything on weapons. I also would have liked to see more magic based classes that aren't boring.

What might kill it for me really quickly regardless though is if there's forced PVP. They might as well shut it down now and save their efforts if that's the case IMO.

I think it is a FFA full loot PvP so I never even bothered to check it out.

While I love PvP and don't mind partial loot PvP, I absolutely can't stand full loot PvP. Nothing says your game has a bland loot table more than full loot PvP. If so, it would be a bummer because the game does look interesting.

According to tracker.gg (never heard of them):

There will also not be separate PvP or PvE servers. Instead, players will be able to change the “channel”, or shard, that they’re on within their realm, which will determine their PvP-eligiblity. If a player decides to join a PvP channel, they will be rewarded with additional experience points, better item drops, and crafting ingredients. However, players who die during PvP will also lose some experience on death.

I'm going to try testing the game today so I guess I'll find out for sure.
