I wish them the best but game is poised to be mediocre and pushing agendas I don't care about.

Will try it when it goes for 10$ in a keys page in 6 months or when it gets sent for free on Prime or Epic in late 2025.

I think it will be "fine" It would have to go a long way to be great I don't really see that at the moment. I don't like the stylized graphics but I'll give it a go. Can't be worse than Inquisition as far as I can see.

I think dei comments are a little rough. they have a point in a certain level though bioware used to be where the best of the best worked now not so much.

all that said I had no interest in the game the art style and only controlling one guy just didn't work for me. I really enjoyed the first the second I never finished and the third while grindy has a terrific story to me anyways. I really enjoyed the story that binds the three together.

I just played through all three again and after watching a streamer play and explain all the systems in the new game it sold me. idk her name but she started the video with she was really worried about the game then really explained the changes and showed off the systems especially how the companions work. that video changed my mind so I'm going to get it eventually.

You don't even realize how fking stupid people like you look when you blame everything on diversity hires without even knowing who the people are doing the job. They could all be white heterosexual males for all you know. Even if they are diverse, the fact you think that is why this game will suck just shows what a racist pos you are.

Ahh the good ole diversity hire point makes you a racist lmfao. Diversity hires can be white and anyone. You just assumed in your mind that he's a racist pos. When you are a bigot. Don't call people racist because he said diversity hires. People like you just throwing the racist remake is hilarious. This just shows you are a bigot pos and can't think outside of a box. Diversity hires can be literally anyone to make a place more diverse. Oh they could be all hispanic, or asian, or women for all you know. I know they arent but THEY could be.

I'm going to wait for unbiased reviews and unpaid ones. Hopefully they don't pull a ubisoft and pay for good reviews.

All that matters is whether the DEI comments are accurate. I don't care how roughly presented they are because they are often as not roughly received.

Hey, our first bigoted comment post of the article. Took longer than I thought to be honest.

Zero interest in this after watching some videos. What the he’ll did they do to Dragon Age?

I am starting to believe that the writers we have seen in so many new gaming franchise titles and TV series are so bad they simply can't come up with a good story. So what they do instead is change and add to the lore, then try to pass that of as story and characterisation. It has become a sort of cultural vandalism, all they now need to do is scrawl "We was here" over the box.

The old garde of excellent senior writers are long gone.

The new generation writers lack any imagination (social media stupidity overload making you completely numb) and being forced into Political activists by higher up Execs, instead of writing good original stories.

Luckily we still get the occasional good game, that completely ignores todays political activism and just stick to making a good game people actually want to play.
Like Space Marine 2, who fatefully sticked to the Warhammer Lore and got rewarded for it.
Before that we got Cyberpunk 2077 (was a bit rough at launch, but long since redeemed itself), that was pure and gritty. Just a damn good game and story!

I don't know how true this is as I don't read anywhere near as much fantasy as I used to, but a friend was saying that the quality of modern fantasy books has become awful. They mentioned agendas in the writing, but a bigger issue for her was the "marketing" of the books. "Romantasy" being just one example of how bad that has become.

I like the artstyle pretty much - it looks different, but well I understand the ppl saying that it doesnt fit into the DA canon.
Also changing the Lore is never a good thing.
But maybe it can still be a good RPG game.

Hey troll account guy, any time someone whines about diversity hires we ALL know what they mean. If you claim otherwise you are a liar.

I'm a sci-fi reader. Things are awful. Only eastern writers are keeping things going. Western publishers incentivize "young stars" and female empowered writers. It's been a total mess for readers since 2014 or so.

I don't even blame the writers. They get promoted even if they can't write sh.t and just fill the checkboxes. Quality of product has gone to the bottom in the priority list just slightly above consumer preferences.

I have looked into this now and it seems things are dire, what gets me is both paperback and ebook fiction is selling really well and that goes beyond the big gains due to covid.

I don't like how they changed the style and how qunari looks (everything is so like "pretty" and disney like).
But its not a breaking point as I do love fantasy RPGs. I'm going to try it as it looks fun at the end of the day. Not a BG3 level but that game was just waaaay too good xD

Dunno about sales. I don't think Sci-Fi is at its best in number of books sold (prices have gone up so sales in total $ might be higher).

Thing is that big publishers have decided to push for "equality" and thats a huge mess up. Sci-fi is still quite a niche compared to almost any other genre. You can't have the same level of quality in a pool of 10.000 writers vs. a pool of 1.000.000 writers.

Once "prestigious" awards like nebula, locus, hugo are a mess since around 2010. They have a bunch of "finalists" (like any other award) and they usually go for a never less than 50% female writers in the last 10 years.

Best of the 10.000 pool can't beat consistently best of 1.000.000 pool so the awards should heavily go towards the 1.000.000 pool. It does not. Actually in some of the awards for the last 5 years goes like 80% into the 10.000. No need to know that this isn't a reflection of reallity.

I love some female writers in Sci-fi (Bujold is one of my favourites) but they are the outlier. Once you start trying to equalize that you are promoting, publishing and giving awards to many people that are not the best. Not even in the top 1% (which would be 10.000 people so not a small group).

Fantasy is a bit different because there is more room for females (romance fantasy is a thing) and the pools are not as much skewed but they still are and quite a similar issue is going on.
