My first gen died after a couple of years, and though I had already joined the kickstarter for the Z2, I had to buy a Swiftpoint Creator to tide me over for what ended up being almost a year wait for the kickstarter to ship. I have significant arthritis in my right hand and therefore a wide bodied mouse is a must for me for gaming and productivity. The Swiftpoint body is the second most comfortable mouse I have ever used next only to the Steel Series Cataclysm mouse that has long been out of production, and hasn't had drivers updated for a very, very long time. It is not compatible with current Steel Series mice.

Between the the comfort factor and the incredible customization capabilities of all those buttons and switches, The Swiftpoint Z are beyond addictive.

Yeah that's not going to work out. You're going to be throwing grenades when you want to shoot and vice versa. You're going to need to come up with a more realistic use case for pressure sensitive mouse buttons than that.

I'll stick with my Logitech G600 which has 20 programmable inputs and costs $60.

Those buttons(?) further back on the left and right click pads look really strange to use. No doubt usage time would accustom the user to this layout.
However the article seems to be more of a pr exercise, avoiding a detailed comparison with multi-function/multi-button mice costing a lot less.

Not wrong, this is my first post, and I noticed the post count as well - I figured it was because I reported a few actual bots, (ie, flagging somehow internally counted as a post). Either way, not a bot, and still can't find an answer anywhere!

This is what you would think, but that's actually not true because of how much pressure you can actually apply. To get to 100%, you really need to press down intentionally and aren't going to get there without deliberately trying. I should have made that clearer in the text though, so fair point.

I am looking at getting a high end joystick, suitable for everything from flight sims to the likes of Elite Dangerous. Not bothered if I have the "thruster" part but happy if it comes with the package as some are not sold separately.

Thank you! That's too bad, really great feature that I feel was popular for like a year, then no mouse had it ever again.

That's still on the logitech G502 now. I never used that for any game related feature tbh. The only real purpose I see is for long PDF document scrolling if there no index.

Well I would not use a joystick for a driving game, but I am sure the latest ones could handle a driving game.

Wheel all the way for those. There are some really cool sim rigs people have set up. Given for driving sims, but the truck sim rigs are really pretty neat.

I'm curious if binding a row of action buttons (12 buttons) on tab-targetting mmo like wow and ff14 would work on the mouse.

I normally set Ctrl+number_row on my Scimitar. (not just the numbers because I press the numbers 1-5 with my left hand)

So hypothetically with the deep clicks of 3 layers.
Light Click = ctrl+1
medium = ctrl+2
deepest = ctrl+3

If I want to only do Ctrl+3 can it do just that or will it have to activate the light and medium (ctrl+1 and 2) first?

I'm not saying this is how i'd bind it. I'm just curious on how the deep clicking works.

Also how would you bind " 1 to 0 " " - " " = `" on the mouse?

I prefer the corsair elite rgb scimitar over the g600 and while both had issues, I had 2 g600 which couldn't really be fixed have issues within 1 or 2 years, my single corsair is still working after 3 years now.

That said it did recently develop a scroll wheel issue which seems fairly common for this mouse however I was able to fix it with a 5$ purchase of a bag of 10 japan encoders off aliexpress and it's working like new again.

My son like his asus rog gladius III wired mouse however these mice have a major flaw...the scroll wheel goes wonky really quickly due to how they designed the cover.

The gap between the cover and scroll wheel is far, far too large so all dust cat hairs etc get in through there and totally screws up the encoders and just cleaning it doesn't cut it. The mice is super easy to take apart though cause it comes with extra switches and can be basically hot swapped (no soldering required) and you don't mess up the skates to get the screws.

I fixed this design issue with a piece of black electrical tape.

I bought a bag of 5 encoders ( you don't have to solder these either unlike the scimitar as they are plug in play via a wire connector) and after changing 2 within a 2/3 months each I simply put a piece of black tape over the encoder so it overlaps and nearly touches the scroll wheel thus dust no longer can get into the encoder...been working good for the last year or so while before 3 or so months and the encoder would start to bug out.

I am not brand reliant in that I wont shill for one mouse or the other, they all tend to have various issues so the only thing I can do is buy according to the experience I get in my own use case.

Razer...cool concept but they were pretty crap quality wise for the 3 I owned, logitech same deal with the g600 switch issues and also had cursor issues with the first one.

I bought the scimitar thinking it would be crap and I would chuck it within 1 year or so but its been great for the last 3 years barring the encoder failing hard for which frankly is not the issue I was expecting. I thought the switches would crap out but they still work 100% fine.

I haven't owned all corsair products but they are at least on par if not better than the logitech, and far, far better quality wise than razer products.

As someone who spent like half his working years fixing radios, vcr, crt tv etc etc no brand is perfect or without faults and as a tech repairing these faults you tend to learn where to check first when certain issues crop up or at least that's how it used to be before everything went full hardcore planned obsolescence. For myself the corsair has been easier to fix rather than just chuck away and buy another and frankly I am surprised that said my use case is quite limited so my next corsair product might be complete crap.

We had a saying back then technicians fix the errors made by engineers!

I have also had some redragons and while decent for surfing the web etc not too great for gaming at least the 2 models I tried.

One thing I do know however is no mice is worth like 200$ USD.... hell I wont even pay more than 100$ cdn for a mouse.

The MayaX looks like it has a good build but it's just too basic for what I want in a mouse.

The mouse in the OP, the g600 and scimitar are not limited like the MayaX is button wise and have macro abilities, well at least the g600 and scimitar do.
