Why would you say it's awful? Because you don't like the visual style? That's a pretty shallow assessment. The game as in inexpensive open world ARPG with co-op, and a lot of people LIKE the visuals. I'm guessing you're one of those people who doesn't like a certain band, so they're "BAD".

And they didn't do a "bait amd switch". The publisher was demanding they take the game in a direction the devs didn't want during EA. So they literally had to ditch their publisher, pull it from Steam, rework the programming, then get it back up.

If you think they wanted to do that on purpose to "scam you", you have an inflated sense of self worth.

I like the game, I think it's an infinitely better game than what it would have been. As for the "bait and switch" comment, some people clearly have no clue what bait and switch mean, but I digress.

Mitech616 is only partially right, but he's also incorrect. They didn't drop their publisher because they disagreed with the direction the game was going, the publisher killed its publishing wing. That publisher being Digital Extremes, IE: Warfame people.

So the game was simply going to cease to exist, and instead of just taking the game offline forever, Airship reworked it into a multiplayer experience so the game didn't die due to the publisher sucking and killing it.

I'm enjoying it, for what it is, a junk food game. It's minute-to-minute gameplay is fun enough that I can just turn my brain off and enjoy 20-40 minutes of blasting away in an ARPG. Regarding the echoes system, I fully agree with the tedium comment. At a certain point I just gave up caring and slotted my highest gearscored item. Some QoL and progression streamlining could go a long way. But, its still a good time.

I join with the party saying " I am a customer I have 0 needs to know what's behind a product". It was an MMO I paid for an MMO > no matter who but you have to at least refund the people who are not interested in the new product.

I bet my ass that of a single player game turn into a good MMO all the single players would start a rant from today until 3150 ahha.

    Thing is:
If you buy an Iphone and you find inside a band new Samsung worth the same price, no matter if you like more the Samsung for any reason but it is not an the Iphone you paid for.

Most of the people defending the new direction of wayfinders are mostly single player people who enjoy some co-op with friends. There is no shame or no judge in my words , it is just not MMO people who enjoy large scale battles with "more than a couple of friends" displayed at the same time.

Lastly, wayfinder did fail (imop) because it was pooly designed to be an MMO... i spent 160h in EA and the game was 99% boring grinding, poor powerscaling(that still is an issue) and no MMO contente...instead they preferred to imprpve the f**** housing system no one cares abput T.T.

Anyway.... I would say both sides are right to like or hate the game.
On the MMO player side everything would be better if AS or DE give back money to players who cares about a crazily good live service and not another single player with co op.

Because when you did buy the game it was an MMO, like any other MMO or game you buy on steam, you don't actually own anything. So, if it wasn't for them pulling the game back and reworking it into a single player or multiplayer experience, it'd just be dead and you'd be crying about the same thing. You wasted your money because the publisher killed the game and called it a day. Happens all the time and you have zero recourse.

So you wouldn't have anything anyway. For those that want to play, we can still play the game and have it to "own" for as long as it's on our Steam account.

So again, not a bait and switch. As for the refunds, not possible. Publishers take the money. So if you want a refund, take it up with Digital Extremes. See how far that gets you.

Circumstances changed when their previous supporter chose to take a hike. They could either let it die as it was or try to give it new life as something else. They chose the latter and I've been enjoying the result well enough.

You paid for a license to access a game that will include in it's fine print something about the maker reserving the right to change what they want when they want in whatever way they want with the purchaser having no recourse in that event.

That is how it is legal.
