  The sad thing sad thing about today is that many things are taken as political statements when that’s not how they were meant to be taken.

  I've seen in begin leaning into that type of toxicity already, I had to block a couple accounts that felt like they belonged on X (twitter).  
  
  Honestly on any social media site, politics in general i try to weed out, regardless of the substance, because I know it's going to go down a toxic road even if it starts out positive and well-intended.   I don't now use social media, but I was on twitter years back and it has always been toxic, that is the nature of social media. What you said sounded odd so here is a guide to blocking on XTwitter from 24 Oct, hope it helps.
