I don't know, since they're are having a "heavy helping hand" in this mobile thing, maybe SE (and CBU3 in particular) could FULLY focus on the actual MMO and fix all the issues that have been plaguing it for years already? Or instead of helping in order to make this, use external help themselves (or just hire) to improve FFXIV, as it has been suggested a thousand times by customers? Like making a better housing system (I have a house, but that doesn't stop me from hating how the system is built), a proper glamour system, viera and hrothgar support as was promised, better content cycles like in the past instead of the current 4-5 month one with less content (which in turn also means less EXPANSIONS over the years than we got in the past, AKA even less content!), etc.
There's a reason why a lot of people are unsubbing, or not bothering to resub for now even after 7.1 dropped, including folks that have been there even during 1.x. Yoshi-P should perhaps look again at that presentation that he did back in 2014 about what they learned while working on 2.0, since he seems to have forgotten about it. Their golden goose won't live a lot longer if they keep starving it, plus we all know that every other game that SE has released lately has had a less than stellar reception, with some even being just losses. It's as if they want to finally go bankrupt for real, and there won't be "loyal fans" to stop them from drowning this time.
And no, the excuse of "it's just to bring in more revenue, which will in turn help the current MMO" was already used when the cash shop (Mog Store) was introduced, and we've all seen how that has worked over the years (just as many of us said back in the day).
"The team behind this version, Lightspeed Studios, is a Tencent-owned group most notably responsible for PUBG Mobile, with a spin-off studio in LA developing Last Sentinel, a AAA open-world MMORPG."

Not sure i'd want to replay a fully condensed A Realm Reborn all over again though, i had enough Waking Sands for one lifetime already.
