Well, it sounds right up my alley and is a day one purchase for me. Thanks for the review!
It's on Game Pass so it might be better trying it there before purchasing. That's what I'm doing.
I’m not a game pass type of person. Also I tend not to be too complainy about video games as I started playing them when they were dots on a screen. And were awesome! Thanks for the tip though

My first console only had pong. Could not play any other game. I feel ya. Also this will be my Xmas time off game. Go Indy
It was given a 7.0 and a 8.6 at MC, so I put a question mark over this one. I think you have to these days, too many AAA releases are not as good as the reviews promise. I won't even be looking into purchasing until next year, so plenty of time. If you do get it give us a post on what you think.
Nice review Jason, I'm excited to try it now. I purchased the deluxe upgrade for GamePass so I could play early but then we have PoE2 today as well :-D

yeah, my first console was also pong: "... look, you can turn this dial and this rectangle actually moves in conjunction to which direction as well as speed you move it ... it's incredible!"

My "first console" was a device that played chess, the pre-console generation.
I think there were "computer kits" out by then but I don't think they played games.
I question the combat part of the review. Not that the reviewer has to like it but It seems, even from what I see from other reviews, that the combat is very particular to the character. Indiana Jones isn't a gun toting cowboy. Sure, he uses one but I think he mostly uses his fists and whip.
It's not going to be flashy because the character isn't really flashy.

Thanks for
the review, didn’t even have this on my radar at all, as with the recent game
sales I picked up a dozen or so games and have started playing through them.
Between what
I have built up in the game library and the new releases I will be getting starting
early next year, it will be quite some time before I get around to this one.
Pretty disappointed
there have been no Indiana Jones movie quotes so far though.
Performance
issues? We have top men working on it right now.
Why make an
Indiana Jones game? Fortune and Glory,
kid. Fortune and Glory.

The gun play in the game is not the main combat tool. What I read is the gun use is limited by game mechanics. Im not sure if I care really. Indy did talk allot with his fists as well =-) Its more like playing a movie is what most people are saying. Places like the Verg gave it a bad review because they didnt like all the cut sceens. That has me personally excited.

Yeah, I think this is an example as to why it's better to read /watch the review over just looking at a score.
I'm currently watching the acg and he pretty much said what you just said, that the main deal is fists with the occasional whip attack which is like a "get out of jail free" moment. The combat seems fine, lots of hitting and the like. But also, I think playing the movie IS the main focus. It gives a sense of who what and where. In any case, it looks great to my eyes.

Oh I should mention, its a AAA which scored 7.0, if you are going to question reviews anything 9.0+ is far more likely to need a second look.
A 7 sounds about right from what I've seen. For me, a 7 means it's a good but not awesomely great game. I don't go by the IGN type review scale where anything under an 8 is seen as mid or worse.

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
I had seen mixed reviews and did not have high hopes for the game. I am a big Indiana Jones fan and I have game pass so I decided to try it. So far I really like the game. I had trouble stopping playing it to goto bed. It gives off alot of uncharted vibes without the guns so far

I love that there are melee weapons everywhere to bonk people over the head with. The variety is great. Shovels, candlesticks, tools, utensils, violins. The last one cracks me up.
