Subscription is great but there are so many services that have their hands out (streaming services, cell phone, external storage, cable, etc, etc, it becomes yet another hand out. That adds up.
I'm wondering if a developer could figure out how many people he "could" get on the low side and then price the subscription accordingly. Honestly, it might be better to have subscription tiers so you can capitalize on the big spenders (though not a pay to win scenario) yet get casual players to pay "something" in order to keep the lights on.

they saw all the gullible fools paying 100 for early access to d4 so now every game does it
Then we got this cat The cat sitting on the corner chastising the way consumer decide how and when to spend there money.
Remove the F2p aspect now we got this cat QQ about how expensive B2P it is at launch, and would rather wait until it goes on sale.
The cat who thinks about all the digital barriers and tries to lump them all into one conversation.
Bring back subscription so this cat can make the other argument about having to be forced to pay to play.
This cat believes F2P is a fucking charity, however, not recognizing the OPTION to CHOOSE to spend money for extra features.
How the fuck do you think any business would survive If you do not force or have folks voluntarily spend money for it to be sustainable over time?
EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FREE RIGHT?
Employees for these companies are not be allowed to earn a wage or a living?
I have tried a handfull of the F2P games and I have honestly not found a single one yet that I actually enjoyed

You can wait til it is free. The 30 bucks for EA does get you enough micro-transaction currency to get the stash tabs that activate all the essential stash tabs that you think are core elements of the game. The micro-transactions from poe 1 even count towards poe 2. GGG also release new QUALITY content regularly on PoE 1 for 10+ years. There is a reason it was announced that they surpassed the 1 million mark on early access activations. Game developers have to get paid somehow so lets not complain about the ones that try to do it in a way that is fair.
