I got this idea from a thread over in the WoW section, and it made me curious of the age of the people here. I thought I'd through in some additional questions while here datamining. I would use a poll, but I've got three questions:
What is your current age?
What Star Wars Galaxies your first MMORPG? If not, what are your previous experiences (including MUDs, if any).
When did you start playing SWG, to the best of your recollection? (it may help sharing what the first featured added after you started was)

Started playing SWG when it was in beta, played up until the CU went live. Messed with the NGE while it was on test using a friends account but I never resubscribed.

SWG was my first MMO
Within the first month of launch (can't remember exactly but it was in the june-july period of 2003)
Of course, the poll is missing an option:
what about those of us that saw the re-release in the threaters in 1997?
Yeap, its my first MMO
Dec 2003
Older than dirt.
No, EQ was my first MMO.

SWG is my first MMO
Started playing in June 2003 (day one), then quit because of lack of player vehicles, then started playing again in June 2004.

Not my first (a few dozen muds, betad Meridian 59, UO, The Realm) - but SWG was the first game I ever paid an ongoing subscription for.
I was there on launch day.
(Anybody else find it fascinating that SWG was a lot of people here's first MMORPG?)
Yes and no. I had tried other MMOs but each one had something wrong with it. Couldnt play EQ because of system out of date eventhough I bought it. Couldnt play WW2O because couldnt log on. Etc.

SWG was my first MMORPG experience, ever. I started the game on a trial during the pre-CU era... I can't remember exactly when that was, but I remember everyone was hunting for holo's and I would see JEDI only rarely, and everyone was wearing composit armor, and I remember seeing people waiting in long lines for things called 'doctor buffs', and the monsters on dat/yavin were really really hard.... I was on a 14 day free trial and I quit b/c it was my first MMORPG and I thought that the idea of having to pay a monthly fee to play a game was a rediculious concept to me, I felt like I was a total nerd for doing something like that so I didn't let myself sub...... and I had decided that the game was a giant time-sink, i.e. a waste of time.
With that said, however, I was totally immersed in the game. It was a living, breathing world and I was really taken in by it.
Fast forward several months later (a year I think), KOTOR comes out. I loved that game so much I didn't want the adventure to end.... so I subbed to SWG right after the CU came out (a total coincidence). If it wasn't for KOTOR I would never have subbed to SWG.
I canceled my account the very day the NGE was unwuttingly revealed by the brawler forum mod.... and I will never ever resub.

SWG was my first, have tried DDO but don't think anything will motivate me like SWG.
I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.
...and making SWG a better place to be

SWG was my first online RPG, (unless you count all the "Legend of the Red Dragon" I played on dial-up BBS.)
Started playing as soon as I was able to get to the store and pick my copy up, first week of release.

Star Wars Galaxies was my first MMORPG, and started playing it in december of 2003
29, No, uh... first graphical game I played alot of was Legends of Kesmai but I played pretty much all the major ones up to EQ/UO/AC... m59, nwn (aol), lok (aol/gamestorm), etc. Muds... cripes, tons... lords of chaos, batmud (bat.org 23, which is still around and kicking ass, has more population at most times than the avg starwars server lol.. and incidentally is more fun to play too), Zebu, baymoo, i suppose were the ones i spent the most time in. Mmmm... muds and moos. Tasty.
Started Galaxies day 1, played through CU, came back a month-2 months later (after the worst of the glaring horrible broken things were fixed) and played through to a week after NGE then retired char with Delete.
