Porting from Place to Place

I just learned something here.
Did you know you can port from place to place on the spots you have visited by using INC?
Select the OPEN WORLD MAP and pick a spot where you once were (town/city etc) and your magically wisped away. Crafting is now alot easier going from ROOT to Scarp Valley or Ground Zero to Scrap Zero, et etc etc.
I am a Level 50 now and for some reason this one got past me (LOL). Here I was taking the long road trips back. However one downfall, it does cost some $$ to go from one place to another.

I was aware of it, but I've found the cost to be too prohibitive unless it's one of the rare times where I need to cross four zones in order to get where I'm going. It makes perfect "roleplaying sense" for INC to charge for the service, but it's hardly an in-game convenience when you have to pay through the nose for it. I'd be happier if there were a flat fee, rather than a sliding price based on your level; that way, it'd be a pain to travel at low levels (when you don't really have far to travel anyway), but the cost would become more and more reasonable as your income increased (during which time you'd be gaining access to more and more areas). As it is, I usually just travel at full speed, blowing up railings for crafting supplies during the trip. I'll be darned if I'm going to spend half the reward of the quest I just finished just so I can hop back a little closer to the NPC who gave it to me.
On the flip side, I suppose one could look at it as an endgame reward. Once you have your perfect chassis with the perfect engine, the perfect tires, the perfect set of weapons, etcetera, every coin you make is pure profit. I imagine the INC fees seem less ludicrous when you don't have any real need to save money for upgrades.
FYI - you can also change instances using INC. When your convoy gets split up over separate instances of the same zone, you can use the drop down arrow under the map (top left) and pick the instance then call INC. Very handy dandy little feature.
