I just began playing a few minutes ago, but it lags like hell. I tried server 7 and 8, but I can't even move. How are you doin' on server 2? I hope there is a way to play without a big lag. I can only create my character and wait till I can disconnect. I will try server 2 too.

I found something interesting. If you can't move after connection it could be possible that they filter your IP. Now I also found a away to pass this. I'm trying this by myself now.
put this in SETTINGS: SOCKS server: 211.21.99.210 PORT: 1978 Socks version 5 "resolve all names locally"
click on new and show the path to your L2.exe (in the system-folder)in the command line. As working directory put in your L2-mainfolder (it should be done automatically).
then rightclick the new thingie in the window and "run socksified"...

to fix the file read error go to where you installed the client. There you should see that a folder is named in chinese, just change the name to anything english (I just renamed it to "Lineage 2"). You shouldn't get that file read error after that.
Hiya all Hope someone is on who has gotten this to work. I've gotten registered, installed the game into C:Program FilesLineage2, installed the special patch and start the game using SocksCap with the info suggested. It is starting up fine, but on the log-in screen I enter the account ID and password I picked and it just makes a funny click-click noise and nothing. The left button I'm sure is OK and the right is cancel, as it boots me back to desktop. The only other highlighted button I see is an option window that comes up. Not sure what info it's asking for or if I'm doing something wrong here... Any feedback would be appreciated.
For you guys who signed up for this game, what did you put for your address and phone number?I was just wondering, because if you would use your real address and stuff that they will find out that you don't live in twain and delete your account for fake ID.
With all the hassle trying to get in this game it just makes me want to wait for the english version.

YEAH!!! made it finally with help from this site and the german 1 thanx to those providing info. Now i still have a question, does viewing the chinese require the installation of chinese code packs ?,since my chinese is absolutely horrible but my friends are great at it so i can get them to help me.

to check if you can play on taiwan server: ping 220.76.12.2 if result is: Reply from 220.76.12.2: bytes=32 time=???ms TTL=???， then you are able to play with ur normal connection if result is request time out，you have to find proxy

All those proxies probably dont work. I myself have tried to find proxies but it is really hard to find a good one. So if you can still make your self able to wait a little longer (1 or max 2 months) to the beginning of the NA OB I'd be doing that. Otherwise try the forum of the following 2 websites for help on proxies:

I was playing yesterday without sockscap on server 9 and I have to say it was very smooth. There were almost no lags, just a delay of maybe ½ a second or so. I don't no why, but it was fun to play really smooth

someone says "it's not lag problem, it's an IP filter thing, you should use socks5 program and find a TW port address. one word, get a TW IP.
I tried but those addresses i found would not work.
