Selling the game

Hi all,

I bought Horizons a couple of days ago, and I haven't been pleased with its performance on my computer. Unfortunately, since it's open, I could only return it for another copy. I'd like to sell it on eBay, but I've never sold an MMORPG on eBay before -- how does one sell the game along with the subscription? The CD Key can't be reused, right?

Has anyone done this before?

Its petty simple if youve sold things on ebay befor. Sell them the game and ship it to them, they get and install it. Then, you send them your User Name and password. Once they get it they changed the password and your both happy.

But the user name is just my email address -- is there a way to switch it to theirs? What about the CD Key issue?

CD keys are only used to create an account... As for the useranme its most likly that you cant change it.

Lol, yeah you have a point. Selling MMORPG's isnt really a good thing to do in the first place lol.

I did this in AO a long time ago.

Just give the buyer login (email in this case), and Password. They are both easily changeable so it all comes down to trust and honesty really...

There are no billing in Horizons yet so no need to woryy about Visa or other credit card number going awry. But if there were just make sure you change yer billing info before.

I have played for 8 hours now BTW, and im allready prpared to sell it, there is no map and im lost somewere, there is no map and teleporters cost money i dont have, one wrong click and you destroyed your char unless you are prepared to beg for creds. No ingame map is like making a mmorpg without a chat function.

Actually there IS an ingame map in the works, and well, I for one could care less, have played DAoC for a LONG time with no ingame map. And where are you going that teleporting costs money, teleporting is free up till lvl 20 from the starter towns, so bind in a starter town, teleport to whatever city you want to go to from there, for free, do your business, Recall back to the starter town, again for free, and teleport anywhere else for free. And well, with a Recall feature, I see absolutely no reason to ever stay lost for longer than a couple minutes, Recall back to wherever you're bound and go somewhere you know. Really quite simple.

Well than why not just return this one. Get a new one, than sell that one on EBAY unopened ?

Yeah, that should work no problem. Prolly the best route if you don't want to give someone else your email address, which really isn't that big of a deal.

Not if i bound in Kirasanct, were i was at the time, exploring around. I would only come back to Kira again. It sorted it self later though but i was god damn mad, free to port out but not to port back, and why are starter towns 3 times as expensive to travel to anyhow?

My original statement stands, one misstake, (binding were you dont want to be, when yer new to the game its not that easy to understand that you will be stuck there if you do), and you are pretty screwed.

True, can see that, and it's so expensive to travel to the starter towns cause they try to discourage people from using them after lvl 20 and move on to a real town. The starter towns are already over crowded with actual starters that additional 30s and 40s just make it hell sometimes.

Ye, its crowded at times, but the starter towns is still the best place to grind as a crafter until at least lvl 30, if they want to discourage people to go there then they should add resource places just as good somewere else. Besides, having high lvl ppl around is sure to help the new players that enters into them towns, discouraging high lvl ppl to help the noobs is not a good way in any mmorpg i have ever played.

If you are after base resources, bronze/flax/sandstone then the starter towns are way way better then anywere else. Even hide works well, allthough the ability to make hide strips from fungus would make you to go soemwere else if you plan on that route.

I am glad to hear about the ingame map btw, (heard it from AE as well). Even though im slowly learning the lay of the land, IE having opened all available player city portals, i still want one very badly, its just not "realistic" having at least SOME form of ingame map. Unless this is supposed to be the stoneage, wich its not..
