MMORPG's Worth Paying For

I'm a young MMORPG gamer. And since I'm so young, I often looks for free MMORPGs that looks like they have potential. I wanna ask some experienced MMORPG players a question that's probably been asked before. Are there any MMORPGs worth paying for?

Steer clear of SWG, ideally, SOE in general.

i'd say that they are. for only $15 a month you can play a game with thousands of other players. depending on which games, you can build cities make your own shops, meet new people, make a guild, be a part of one, so many possiabilities. but most times or not you will not find the same kind of fun in a free mmorpg. unless its one that use to be p2p that became free.

I am also young, and it takes a lot to make money. I have happly been paying for WOW for about 6 months until recently and it's slightly worth it.

However, I'm sticking with free MMORPG's, especially after seeing ROMA VICTOR. I'm sure soon free MMO's will be as good as MMo's you have to pay for.

In my experience pay per month MMORPG's are much higher quality and have much more depth than free ones. My experience being ones like EQ, WoW, Eve, ect. Of course there are horrible pay per month games and fun, at least for a week or so, free ones.

I'd suggest looking into WoW, Eve, and Horizons. Each is good and each offers something different.

Staying away from SOE games are a good bet I feel. Just not worth it. Especially Star Wars Galaxies. Stay far away from that. EQ1 is most certainly not worth $15 a month. They even had the nerve to up the price on their PS2 version of Everquest and that most certainly wasn't justified I feel since that thing hasn't been updated in any signifcant way since the Frontier version of the game came out and that was what 3 years ago? If not longer?

From what I remember, Dark Age of Camelot is well worth it's monthly fee due to the options you are given.

I'd say Anarchy Online is also worth it as well, same goes for Guild Wars (though that's free but what you get for the box price is great). I'd put Asheron's Call up there as well.

Ultima Online would be worth it's price if they'd do something about the engine but they aren't going to.

Some people like WoW, personaly it seems like a grind game to me. I quit at level 12 before Blizzard could get my money

Guild Wars is said to be good and theirs no monthly fee.

FFXI seems like it would be good if you put in the grind for a little, I don't know if it is.

City of Villains is my favorite but it's repetitive and should be taken in moderation.

WoW and Ragnarok are mostly if for people that have friend that play it.

FFXI is really only worth it I feel if you have a LOT of patience and a LOT of time. It's very insane grind. Simply being a Final Fantasy fan isn't enough I feel since it's a turn off to FF fans due to it's setup. It takes forever to do almost anything. It's great just being in a Final Fantasy world but that very quickly wears off.
