well im working on a 2d mmorpg. its been in the making for about 3 days now, after you play a while i might make you a mod, mapper or developer. heres the link! Legend of Lyeron .... thanks! heres a screenshot... Screenshot
People like you annoy me. Come back with at least 20 people in 3 years and you might actually have something that almost breaks into the good section. You take making an mmorpg way to lightly. Although i have to say after looking at the screenshot, if all you're looking into making is a mud then it looks ok and you can ignore the rest. Although you wont get very far with a mud.
You are funny. Tell us if you still think of developing it after another week.
Trust me, if you cannot at least continuelly spend time to develop a game for more than a couple of months, then most probably you are never going to complete it.
I say this by experience. I tried developing games multiple times, but after a couple of weeks I lost my interest or something else came up. So, I never was able to spend more than 2 good productive weeks on any of the games which I started to develop.

you're not "working" on one, you took a pre-made engine, and used it with no creative value at all.
We call that stupid. Why? Because you made nothing, you sat there and clicked a few buttons.
If you want to make a game, make one. Don't use some crappy tools and no custom content. That's just ignorant.
im going to keep making the game, and games like this do get far, secrets of mirage has a similar "engine" and is the same 2d graphics and 20-30 people are on it most of the time. and i know its not that great and its easy to do, but i still am going to keep at it
Ok first of all dont put this on the beta forums if its 3 days old (crap game)- This should be on the develpers Corner..... Currently Playing: Earth Eternal (Closed BETA w00t!), Eternal Lands, Magic World Online, ACE Online, Dark Orbit, Dead Frontier, Wizard 101, SpellCasters, America's Army, Dungeon Runners, Runes of Magic, DotA ----***I ONLY PLAY F2P MMORPG'S!***---- (A lot of these games I jump around too, I'm most dedicated right now to Earth Eternal and Eternal Lands...)
If you enjoy what your doing then keep at it, and I wish you the best.
As for all the negative posts, I ask what are your intentions?
I personally think he is doing the right thing, he isnt trying to develop his own engines and write all his own code for the "new" and "breaking" game out there, which then I could understand all the negative feedback ;p
He will learn about game design concepts, and how hard a simple project with pre-made engines are, and when(if) finished will have that much more confidence, learned a bunch and then can make a bigger one or start learning on making a small game on his own.
Also, one more side note, unless he changed the title I didnt see great or best game just a 2d rpg.
I think it is a good start. Need to work on a few things on it to be true, but for a first project to break into gaming and get experianced, good start.
Hey, it's not too bad, probably a good idea if you don't know what your up aggainst. Believe me writing a new game from scratch is like re-inventing the wheel! And i get even more negative feedback than you!!!
Keep it going, you will develop all the skills you will ever need to learn about a computer it's quite fascinating understanding exactly how everything works just from being able to make a simple game.
yeah keep it up. dont listen to the haters who lack both the skills and attention span to get where you have gotten in just a couple of days. Good luck.
All I have to say is keep up the development of your game, just remember that all of the games featured here started as just a concept with not a lot of support. Who knows if you develop the concept well enough you may be able to sell it to a major developer...if you want that is.
Yo! it's me oldknight and I realy like your effort you saw attilio's post up above we are just finishing up on a new mmorpg it is called tbadventure it is realy cool you should play it or if you have any questions about your game you can ask one of us I would be glad to give you pointers.

and do not let anything come in the way of what you like to do because that is failure and everyone can mess up on somthing but it's when you let other people bring your idea down and you quit doing what you love thats when you actually failed that's when you fail yourself so just keep doing what you want to do.
