ayup, then you get a one time poster coming in and saying (oops not a one time poster , a 5 post poster - they needed enough to vote 10 on their game and 1 on all the other games) - it is our site that isnt allowing those who wish to come in and TALK about the game and its flaws. Methinx he first needs to send them to charm school or better yet, having a little more training in the shill dept and perhaps some REAL human behavior 101 classes and yup, maybe a few gaming classes to understand this beast called a mmo gamer just a tad bit more before he unleashes the gang. It has only proven fatal to the oh so obvious bs posters.
By the way how you cancel your DnL subscription? Their FAQ sent me to the login to my account but can find no where on how to cancel my subscription. Anyone can help?

Aye, the "help" you get for cancellation lead to nowhere (much like the quests! WOOT) however your best bet is to call your credit card company. Through vast experiences, the road you must follow per Farlans instructions include many many many weeks of useless emails between yourself and Farlan and yourself and C&B and vice versa. Quite a few times you may even be told that you dont have an account. When you DO check into your account and specifically the Farlan transaction, they will subsequently place a $10 hold on the account, cuz they are thinking you are going to buy another one, since they already told you you dont have an account but you have at least tried to play the game already so you MUST have an account........and it goes on and on and on (one person on the boards reported being charged the $10 three times each time he tried to access his account that "didnt exist")
Soooo...honestly just call your credit card company, tell them there is no direct customer service regarding this transaction, tell them why you wish to refund (unplayable, undelievered, not as advertised, no direct billing support, etc etc). They will check their own records, find your transaction and issue a chargeback. All within minutes.
Most have had the surest , easiest and most efficient process doing it this way. Good luck.

Last thing I remember, I was Running for the door I had to find the passage back To the place I was before 'Relax,'said the night man, We are programmed to receive. You can checkout any time you like, but you can never leave
So what does the positive spin do for the game? Nothing.. More harm than good really.
Say 1000 people are convinced to give the game a shot (like I did Jun 5). 95% of them will feel abused & ignored and quit.
So Farlan creates 950 more unhappy gamers that add their voices to the opposition (and rankings on sites like this).
So why do it? $54 x 1000= $54,000.. Talk about selling your reputation cheap.
If Farlan really felt this game had a future, they would refund as a minimum the monthly fee and make it free to play for now. Build good will with the community. Make them feel like they are helping to build something, instead of feeling used.
If they really have the code to make a lasting (profitable) game they can get more funding from their backers. But there is the rub, and the logical reality.. They can't get professionals to part with more capital because they have nothing to convince them that it would be a wise investment.
Much easier to create false reviews in hope of luring in new players.. Even if they quit in a week.

Why would the devs and fans focus their energy on what the people here say? Umm why not focus that energy into making a good game, then maybe people will buy it. It's not like this is the only site that has slammed them. Vuuar doesn't sound too bright. As soon as he figures out "If you make a game that is worthwhile, people will buy it." the better off he will be.
They are running out of time plain and simple. They have an inferior and useless product, new games on the way LONG before this game will ever be playable and enjoyable and huge amounts of customer dissatisfaction. Combine all those and you can see why they would instead focus any energy on getting as much cash as possible. As it stands now this game can't compete with anything even close to in it's price range and that's just current releases. Wait 6 more months for some of the bigger titles on the way to hit store shelfs and there will be absolutely no one willing to spend a nickle to play this game.

Aye, thats what many of us here have said. Many claim that mmorpg.com is a 'shit site" yet focus all their energies here to try and discredit the truth that shows here. And again, they like to blame the bad review posts on the posters themselves than on the incompetent mess they have created. Its easy to blame others.
Originally posted by hakenaton Is that a quest? What level do I need to be to cancel my account?
LOL yeh, its a condition of the purchase. A word from the dev and just looky at all the little fans go running to blame the people that give an honest live review.
As far as level? Welp, seeing as how you cant get past the level 1 mob ganking without losing your coin and weapons and armor but if ya do, then the aggro out on the plains will do it for ya anyway, level 1 should be sufficient to complete the quest of chargeback.

Yup, so now even with the effort of the uber fan team, its still at a 3.9. Those with bogus accounts will get caught and all their ratings will be deleted along with their accounts. But then again, all Vuuar wanted to do was "talk" about the game, he never intended to counter an attack -- this was merely a language miscommunication - again.

I'm someone who almost never posts (obvious, if you look at my post count), but I've been following this forum for over a year. I'm one of the people who changed his hype, um, dramatically after SoG came out. But once the game was released, I had no intention of rating it. I hadn't played DnL, so what business did I have giving it a review?
Anyway, once I saw the business about "hey fans, give all the other games 1s, give us a 10" I sort of changed my mind about that. I wouldn't be surprised if, when all is said and done, there are more people rating this game on this website than ever actually managed to play it. Is that good? In an absolute sense, no. Is it fair? For this game, given the level of ethics we're working with in context, yes, I think it's fair.

I am not quite sure what you are saying here. Do you believe that what the Devs did as well as the fans -- rating their game a 10 and all others a 1 fair? Or are you saying that giving it a rating without playing it was fair? Or are you saying that rating it without playing it was fair simply because of the unethical practice of the devs and its fans?
I rated it because I played it and I gave it an honest review. The only thing worth any pts at all were the graphics and on that due to the terrain. All other aspects of the graphics however helped to lower this score tremendously.
I do not believe that they stopped to think for one minute that this could in fact bite them in the ass in many respects. But then again, I do not believe that much of what they do is well thought out. Many of the "moves" of this Development Team and its cult like fans have been asinine in the least and totally ignorant arrogance at the most. It bites them back on a daily basis and all they do is detour it to fault finding. Every time they have gone down the low road, it rolls back to slap them yet they refuse to see its their own actions coming back at them.
I've been following DnL for a couple of years now and I'm starting to believe the people in charge to be very un-professional .. so I'm not supprised by this .
