OMG - I was just checking the official forum and saw some really vicious posts for both sides. I was going to link one but then noticed that it seems every other posts is an attack for and against. Get your popcorn this is gonna be a great show.
one of the big issues seems to involve the economy. It seems the devs gave the suckers (pioneers) alot of extra spending money. Now inflation has skyrocketed and the new players cannot even afford basic foodstuffs to restore stats or something.
I wonder if any of the devs have college degrees in economics, marketing, or computer science.

Reporting bugs is a duty of a beta tester but it also requires a developer to fix them. I cant belive all these bugs have gone unnoticed through a beta test.

Nope they sure as hell no nothing about economy or marketing, they also have shown with there latest changes they have no foresight or understanding of cause and effect (although im sceptical that they ever had this kind of insight). Limit FXP then there is no reason to kill creatures etc so people move to crafting to fill in their time, nerf crafting to slow people down while not fixing FXP issue then they get what they have there now people leaving, and hate posts.
To me there 70% completed is dwindling even so quickly, crafting is obviously not finished therfore there slowing people down so they can play catch up, right now id say its maybe 20% complete and thats being really optimistic.

What a surprise, giving the pioneers a buttload of extra cash fubared the economy. Who would have figured that. My oh my. They must grow some good smoking material on that island. Those boys not only do not have a clue, they would not recoginze a clue if one was going wee wee on their leg.

This is the only good part of having a crappy game coming out at release - the fire on the forums. Man its like going to a broadway show, cant get any better than this.
Twizzlers anyone?

What do you think DnL is, Valharan?
Farlan/NP3 will not only go down in history as the creators of the most broken and incomplete MMORPG ever released, but they are also setting a new precedent by charging people a premium price to be the first paying beta-testers of a MMORPG.
Sadly, they are now discovering the hard way that those two ideas are not "strategies for success" in the gaming industry.
Oh, and I started a thread on the official forums back in Dec 2005 about how the inheritance idea was flawed, and would likely have a bad affect on the economy...especially in a new game. For the most part, the non-pioneers agreed. While the pioneers tried to down play the whole thing.

That's problem that will exist in any game. When a game gets older, the older players have more money then the starting ones, getting the same situation.
However, there are also a lot of pioneers that are willing to help out the new people, by giving out older (but still usefull equipment). This is also the case in older games.
When I'm increasing my crafting skills I tend to give away the armor I made or sell them below vendor cost (so I''m able to buy more resources from vendor to make more).
As with RL, there are allways those who try to take advantage of others. Unfortunately, it's human nature.

WHOOSH! OVer the head! completely out of jist of what the original post was all about. Dumping alot of money into the economy screws it up. PERIOD. ITs got nothing to do with ongoing games and how they all relate to the newbies. You are speaking of a game that has had some success past a crappy launch and the economy a chance to set itself up. DNL and this post does not and is not. Get a clear concise position on the TOPIC on hand before posting this unnecessary statement that has no relation to it at all.

LOLOL But they DID announce the new rules. Vuuar brought the hammer down and stated emphatically that censorship at the slightest discretion of the mood of the mod, will be even more strictly enforced than before! My gawd! He practically called for a war at his own forum. LOLOLOL
